Catalog your data with CDFinder https://www.cdfinder.de CDFinder is now called NeoFinder, and with a new Adobe XMP Editor, NeoFinder now rocks even more! CDFinder is a Digital Asset Manager for Macintosh and Windows http://www.cdwinder.de The software catalogs any type of data (photos, movies, songs, documents), on any device (hard disk, CD, DVD, Blu-ray, USB sticks, server volumes, iPods, etc.) and offers powerful Find features to quickly locate your data. The extensive support of metadata (Adobe XMP, EXIF, IPTC, MP3, and more) also increases the abilities to locate our files anywhere. - For CDFinder to work its magic finding your hidden digital treasures, it first needs to catalog your data once. You can simply click the "Catalog Disk" button to catalog an entire disk. Just select it from the list of mounted volumes, done. Or you can simply drag a disk from the Finder into the left side of the CDFinder window. That will also start cataloging it. Of course, CDFinder cannot just catalog entire disks, that would be lame. You can also just catalog important folders. Again either drag them from the Finder into the left part of the CDFinder window, or use the "Catalog Folder" menu command. Hint: The menus of CDFinder hold a lot of interesting functions, make sure you have a look at them... To help you find your data better, CDFinder not simply reads the names of your files and folders when cataloging, but it can also read a huge amount of helpful additional data as well, such as photo thumbnails, or the MP3 tags of song files. You control what CDFinder catalogs with the Preferences. Here, in the "Cataloging" section, you can tell CDFinder for which types of files you wish to have a thumbnail, and what size it should have. The Media-Info is even more extensive, and covers video, photo, as well as audio files. But CDFinder can do a lot more! During cataloging, it can peek inside compressed archive files to gather their content, detecting ZIP, RAR, TAR, and other formats. CDFinder is even the first cataloger on the Mac that can catalog the contents of disk image files for you! And sometimes there is unwanted information you don't need, so you can ignore things like invisible files or folders, icon and alias files, or the contents of bundles or file packages, such as applications, to speed up cataloging and to create a cleaner catalog. That wasn't all yet! CDFinder can attach a serial number to any new catalog - making filing large numbers of disks easier, and CDFinder can even catalog version info of files and their Spotlight or Finder comments. CDFinder can also generate a FileCheck value for every file it catalogs. That is powerful if you are concerned about long time storage. At any time, you can ask CDFinder to verify these FileCheck values either for a particular file, or for an entire catalog, and you can then check that all files are in fact unchanged and safely stored. At last, you can control how much depth CDFinder catalogs. If you just need the top level items on your disks, set this up here. You can set all these preferences either globally, using the CDFinder Preferences window, but you can also tell CDFinder to show you these cataloging specific preferences for each volume you catalog. Just use this checkbox here, or hold down the Command key just before a cataloging process begins in CDFinder. Then you will see these options again, but they will then only apply to the disk you are about to catalog. And there is one more thing: If you have changed the content of a disk, you can ask CDFinder to update an existing catalog by selecting it, and using the "Update Catalog" in the File menu. Then, CDFinder will quickly run over the disk, update everything, while keeping your comments and labels for files and folders in that catalog alive. CDFinder - The Search is Over!

Presented by Alex Kudriashova, Integration Lead, Astro Digital The ARD and STAC interoperability workshop, which took place on August 13 - 15 at the USGS Menlo Park Campus, was dedicated to discussing interoperability between commercial data sources of imagery and public datasets. In particular, we presenting different approaches to data harmonization with an emphasis on determining standard approaches and practical recommendations on standards for Analytics Ready Data. The workshop was open to technical staff in commercial EO data providers, government agencies like USGS, NASA and ESA - as well as data analytics providers and NGOs. The workshop was also run in parallel with the third SpatioTemporal Asset Catalog (STAC) sprint, as STAC aims to be the default interface to share Analysis Ready Data. This was recorded at a Federal Government facility and does not necessarily represent the views of the USGS nor should it imply endorsement by the USGS or Federal Government.

Welcome to the Using the Data Purge Tool Demo In this demo, you will learn how to use the Data Purge Tool in Desire2Learn Version 10.3. At the end of this demo, you should be able to download the listing of OU #s, add them into a data purge set, and queue the data set to be purged. First log into D2L as an administrator. Then go into the Data Purge Tool from the Admin Tools icon on the top right side of the black mini bar. Then click on the Create Data Set button, and choose the Org Unit Data Set option. Then give the data set a name and choose the options you want the system to run. Here we are going to delete everything and not save anything. To do this choose the purge data and files without storing anything option and the course materials, user activity, and files in course path options. Clicking on the link what data or files will be affected, will give you a description of each option choice. Next we need to add the course OU #s to the data set. The easiest way to get the entire list is to run a report. From the Admin Tools icon open the Reporting Tool in a new tab or window. Click on the New Report button. Then choose the Org Units options. Next click on the Table rending type. Give the report a name. Then choose an existing category or create a new one. Click the save button. Then go to the Table Properties Tab. Click on the Code, Name, and Org Unit ID options and add them to the right column. Click the save button. Then go to the Filters Tab. Select Code from the list and click the Add Filter button. Change the string to contains and type in the semester code. Click the save button. Then click on the Run Report button. The screen will refresh showing you the filtered report. Click on the Export to CSV button and open the file. Now you have a listing of all of the OU #s for this data set purge. Re-order your list by the OU #s and select the ones you want to purge. Copy them and then go back to the tab or window with the Data Purge tool. Click on the Add Org Units button, and choose the Enter Org Unit IDs option. Paste the copied OU #s into the textbox and check the option for Include all descendants. Click the Add button. The screen will refresh showing you all of the courses in the data set. Click the Save button. From the drop drop triangle next to the data set, click on the Queue for processing option. You have now successfully created a Data Set Purge and Queued it for processing.

Augmented-reality surgery, moon landings and a battle for the soul of Europe will be major talking points in the year ahead. But what else will make our countdown for the top ten stories for 2019? Click here to subscribe to The Economist on YouTube: https://econ.st/2xvTKdy What will be the biggest stories of the year ahead? 00:35 - 5 - Augmented-reality surgery 2019 will bring a whole new reality for some patients going under the knife, as surgeons use augmented reality headsets to help carry out operations. Doctors at St Mary's Hospital in London are pioneering the use of AR to improve skin graft surgery. It's hoped this technology will make surgery faster and safer for patients. Multiple images from CT scans are combined to make a 3D hologram which is superimposed onto the surgeons real world view. The AR headsets were developed from the technology used in a Microsoft games console but they now have life-saving applications. 02:30 - 4 Japan tackles tourism In September sports fans will turn their eyes to Japan as it hosts the Rugby World Cup. The tournament will be more than just a warm-up for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics it's central to a plan to transform the country's economy. The government hopes to boost the number of tourists to 40 million a year by 2020 - 25 percent more than in 2017. Currently around 85 percent of visitors to Japan are from Asia but it is now attracting more Western visitors with far more spending power. In preparation for this boom a taxi company in Tokyo has organized a competition to test drivers English. The winner early started learning English four years ago and he's seen a steady rise in foreign customers. The Japanese government also wants more foreigners to stay in the country. With famously low immigration rates and almost a third of citizens aged over 65, Japan is suffering from a dire labor shortage but legislation has been passed that will allow three hundred and forty-five thousand foreign workers in over the next seven years. But with the Japanese population shrinking by nearly four hundred thousand a year the country may need to welcome even more people from the rest of the world. 05:06 Testing Trump 2019 is set to be US president Donald Trump's most testing year yet when Democrats assume control of the House of Representatives and he comes under more scrutiny. Mr. Trump came to power promising to rid Washington DC of corruption and vested interests. But this could be the year the swamp really makes the president sweat. Top of the list for some Democrats is publishing the president's tax returns. But it won't just be his financial affairs under the spotlight - the real pressure on Mr. Trump in 2019 could come from the Muller investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election. If the investigation supports serious allegations against the president then 2019 could be the year that the Democrats begin impeachment proceedings. But don't expect the Republican majority in the Senate to convict him or any charges to even make a dent in Mr. Trump's core support across the country So for Mr. Trump's political opponents the real focus in 2019 is likely to be on who they choose to run against him at the next presidential election. 07:46 - 2 Moon rush On the 20th of July the world will remember the moment 50 years ago when Neil Armstrong first set foot on the moon. In 2019 there will be new entrants in the race to return to the moon. Israeli nonprofit organizations space il hopes it's Lander will be the first lunar expedition funded by private enterprise and other companies like Astrobotic in the US are also planning to get in on the action soon. Not to be outdone China's Lunar Lander should also touchdown in 2019, making it the first craft to land on the far side of the Moon - But there is more than just prestige at stake and it will no longer just be men taking giant leaps. 10:05 - 1 Battle for Europe The biggest story of 2019 won't be, as some might think, the UK's protracted divorce from the European Union. In 2019 a bigger broader upheaval is set to unfold across the continent ahead of the European parliamentary elections. Populist parties have shaken the traditional political order across the continent and are hoping to win more power than ever in the 2019 vote. It raises the multi-billion euro question what will all this mean for the EU's future. Some of its supporters hope that populist forces could ultimately push the EU into reforms which will save it and the continents prosperity. An introduction to Facebook's Graph API which is the primary way to programmatically integrate with Facebook - publishing Open Graph stories, reading data about the current user - their details, likes and interests and friends. Read the full Getting Started guide at https://developers.facebook.com/docs/getting-started/graphapi/ We cover: - the difference between Objects (also known as Edges) and Connections - Using the Graph API Explorer we see how to build up deep graph queries which dive several layers deep into the Graph - How we need to request additional permissions to access more data about the user, or to have permission to publish on behalf of the user.

More than 90% of the world's data appeared in the past two years. From privacy to politics, Facebook to facial recognition – discover the true impact of this data revolution. Click here to subscribe to The Economist on YouTube: https://econ.st/2xvTKdy Erlanger hospital, Tennessee - the medical staff here are at the forefront of efforts to transform healthcare with data and those efforts could make the difference between life and death. At many hospitals there can be critical delays in analyzing brain scans. Hours can go by before patients are properly diagnosed and transferred for emergency treatment. But Dr Tom Devlin's team is using a new data-driven tool called Viz.AI. It's machine learning technology quickly draws on fast amounts of medical data gathered from years of research. This hospital is pioneering another data-driven technology that could save lives. Today, Carol will be the world's first patient to have her brain monitored for signs of a stroke during heart surgery. It's an innovation that could transform the outcome for heart surgery patients across the world. As Carol goes under the knife this scanner uses data collected on hundreds of patients to identify clots that might be passing to her brain. Data driven innovation is rapidly spreading in parts of the healthcare industry. Services powered by artificial intelligence are said to be worth 6.6 billion dollars by 2021. The data revolution sweeping the modern world has a darker side too. Day and night, vast amounts of personal information are quietly collected from the 2.5 billion people with a smartphone. It's not just smartphones. The number of connected devices collecting data about their users is on the rise and expected to reach 31 billion worldwide by 2020. Data driven technologies are even being used to influence how people vote. Politicians are increasingly turning to data companies to mine the social media profiles of voters and to hit them with ever more targeted messages. During the 2016 US presidential election, the Trump campaign is believed to have spent tens of millions of dollars on this micro targeting. Trump's campaign manager co-founded the company that orchestrated this - Cambridge Analytica. Cambridge Analytica built what it claimed was a powerful program to predict and influence choices at the ballot box using the personal data of 50 million American Facebook users. But it appears they did so without users permission. It's not just the Titans of tech coming under closer scrutiny. In communities around the world people are looking more carefully at how public bodies handle their data. In an effort to tackle crime the Los Angeles Police Department is using a novel approach called predictive policing. Predpoll predicts crime by analyzing data from the past several years. The LAPD is trailing another program that goes one step further. Operation laser uses a point system to rank individuals based on their past behavior. The higher your score the greater the chance you will end up on a list of people who, according to the data, are most likely to reoffend. For LAPD chiefs these data-driven technologies are an efficient way to reduce crime but researchers at Cornell University Library found that systems like Predpoll are susceptible to so-called feedback loops where police are repeatedly sent back to the same neighborhoods regardless of the true crime rate. In China there's precious little discussion about the ethics of data use and here the state is already using data in an effort to control the behavior of its citizens. The government here is building a social credit rating system using individuals data. By 2020 china plans to give all of its 1.4 billion citizens a personal score based on how they behave. The rating system is still being trialed but already it has seen over 12 million people slapped with domestic travel bans as punishment for bad behavior. As the global data revolution accelerates, its ethics are set to come under ever closer scrutiny. Debate is already raging over how to hold companies and governments accountable for how they use data. In Western democracies checks and balances could prevent the kind of exploitation some in China are already facing. But will they? What are the forces shaping how people live and work and how power is wielded in the modern age? NOW AND NEXT reveals the pressures, the plans and the likely tipping points for enduring global change. Understand what is really transforming the world today – and discover what may lie in store tomorrow. When you enrich your dataset in SAP Lumira, measures are created from numeric columns. By default, measures are aggregated by summing. In instances where aggregation is not desirable, you can set the aggregation method to none. In this tutorial, we will apply semantic enrichments to the NHL dataset then change the aggregation method for the AGE measure to none.
