Definition of branding in marketing management

05:19
http://www.successclub.info/blog/branding-the-marketing-practice-of-creating-a-name Definition of branding in marketing management An effective brand strategy gives you a major edge in increasingly competitive markets. But what exactly does "branding" mean? Simply put, your brand is your promise to your customer. It tells them what they can expect from your products and services, and it differentiates your offering from that of your competitors. Your brand is derived from who you are, who you want to be and who people perceive you to be. Are you the innovative maverick in your industry? Or the experienced, reliable one? Is your product the high-cost, high-quality option, or the low-cost, high-value option? You can't be both, and you can't be all things to all people. Who you are should be based to some extent on who your target customers want and need you to be. Define Branding Marketing- The foundation of your brand is your logo. Your website, packaging and promotional materials--all of which should integrate your logo--communicate your brand. Your brand strategy is how, what, where, when and to whom you plan on communicating and delivering on your brand messages. Where you advertise is part of your brand strategy. Your distribution channels are also part of your brand strategy. And what you communicate visually and verbally is part of your brand strategy, too. Consistent, strategic branding leads to a strong brand equity, which means the added value brought to your company's products or services that allows you to charge more for your brand than what identical, unbranded products command. The most obvious example of this is Coke vs. a generic soda. Because Coca-Cola has built a powerful brand equity, it can charge more for its product--and customers will pay that higher price. Define Branding Marketing - The added value intrinsic to brand equity frequently comes in the form of perceived quality or emotional attachment. For example, Nike associates its products with star athletes, hoping customers will transfer their emotional attachment from the athlete to the product. For Nike, it's not just the shoe's features that sell the shoe. Defining your brand is like a journey of business self-discovery. It can be difficult, time-consuming and uncomfortable. It requires, at the very least, that you answer the questions below: What is your company's mission? What are the benefits and features of your products or services? What do your customers and prospects already think of your company? What qualities do you want them to associate with your company? Do your research. Learn the needs, habits and desires of your current and prospective customers. And don't rely on what you think they think. Know what they think. Define Branding Marketing - Once you've defined your brand, how do you get the word out? Here are a few simple, time-tested tips: Get a great logo. Place it everywhere. Write down your brand messaging. What are the key messages you want to communicate about your brand? Every employee should be aware of your brand attributes. Integrate your brand. Branding extends to every aspect of your business--how you answer your phones, what you or your salespeople wear on sales calls, your e-mail signature, everything. Create a "voice" for your company that reflects your brand. This voice should be applied to all written communication and incorporated in the visual imagery of all materials, online and off. Is your brand friendly? Be conversational. Is it ritzy? Be more formal. You get the gist. Develop a tagline. Write a memorable, meaningful and concise statement that captures the essence of your brand. Design templates and create brand standards for your marketing materials. Use the same color scheme, logo placement, look and feel throughout. You don't need to be fancy, just consistent. Be true to your brand. Customers won't return to you--or refer you to someone else--if you don't deliver on your brand promise. Be consistent. This tip involves all the above and is the most important tip on this list. If you can't do this, your attempts at establishing a brand will fail. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aVfLbo5ddxo&feature=youtu.be If you gained value from this post be sure to comment and retweet below! AMA New York Brilliance in Marketing Hit Broadway Shows

03:13
Jimmy McNicholas of SpotCo talks to the American Marketing Association New York about marketing hit Broadway shows. 00:00 Lisa Merriam, Host: Most people associate marketing with Madison Avenue but that's under the bright lights of Broadway that the American Marketing Association of New York found brilliance in entertainment marketing. Meet Jimmy McNicholas. He's an expert at marketing live theater and is the Senior Creative Director at SpotCo. SpotCo is the team behind some of Broadway's biggest brands, from Cats to Hamilton to Kinky Boots and The Great Comet. 00:29 Jimmy McNicholas, SpotCo: One of the most unique things about marketing a Broadway show is that the biggest driver of ticket sales is actually word of mouth. So everything we do has to amplify that all of our advertising efforts social media efforts outdoor efforts digital efforts all have to essentially say the same thing that word of mouth is saying. If there's a disconnect, the ticket buyers can pick up on that. 00:53 Jimmy McNicholas, SpotCo: In 1997, SpotCo came into the Broadway marketing space and really changed the rules of the game. It really started to speak to consumers in a language that they understood. A show’s brand and ad campaign has to communicate an emotional promise it doesn't necessarily need to explain exactly what you're seeing on stage but it needs to somehow feel like it. Because it's a really crowded marketplace. There are 30-sometimes 40 shows on Broadway and so you have to find a way to differentiate yourself it's through emotion that we're able to make the difference. 01:25 Jimmy McNicholas, SpotCo: One of the biggest challenges in marketing the Great Comet is that the experience inside the theatre happens all around you it's a show that's totally immersive and, unlike any other show on Broadway. So from the beginning the producers of the show and the theater owners the Shubert organization and SpotCo, the ad agency, came together to talk about how exactly are we going to communicate this unique seating chart to the world. A lot of people don't like the idea of sitting on stage that can be a little scary to people, but it really is such a key part of this experience, so we took a lot of time and effort figuring out how to name all of the sections, coming up with charts and graphs to explain exactly how the seating and what pieces of the show you would experience best from which seats. And you know over time word got out that you know this is an unique experience that just has to be seen to be believed and the way that we communicated the seating areas was really a big part of giving people permission to go in there and be a part of this experience . 02:26 Jimmy McNicholas, SpotCo: When we can capture the emotion that's happening inside of a theater that's what really fuels word of mouth and in all of the materials we make, especially on social media—that's one of the big ways in which marketing Broadway has changed, even over the last 5-10 years. When we can start to create a community of people online who can help be brand ambassadors for us and give them the materials in the language that they need in order to keep that word of mouth going, that's when the real magic happens, and the tickets really start to sell. 02:55 Lisa Merriam, Host: The ability to capture the experience in the emotion of a Broadway show in its brand in its marketing is what helps drive word-of-mouth to sell tickets and that's what creates a Broadway hit. That's brilliance and marketing.

Marketing Definition - Become A Marketer From Scratch

Marketing Definition - Become A Marketer From Scratch! Limited offer: Enroll in my course on Marketing Fundamentals and save over $100! Click here: http://bit.ly/1M2JcgQ Marketing is omnipresent. People have needs which they are eager to satisfy, therefore we are all customers. Whether we like it or not, whether we want it or not, marketing plays too important a role in our lives. Marketing means different things to different people. I think it is important from the very beginning of the course to define what marketing is. There are many marketing definitions but we are going to have a look at four of the most popular, namely: • The American Marketing Association – formal definition. • Social definition. • Peter Drucker’s definition. • The shortest marketing definition. Mind you that a lot of other marketing definitions were proposed in the past, however due to the evolving nature of marketing, vast number of them became obsolete. The American Marketing Association – Marketing is the activity, set of institutions, and processes for creating, communicating, delivering, and exchanging offerings that have value for customers, clients, partners, and society at large. Social definition – Marketing is a societal process by which individuals and groups obtain what they need and want through creating, offering, and freely exchanging products and services of value with others. Kotler, Keller – Marketing Management 14th Edition. Click the link: http://bit.ly/1M2JcgQ One of the shortest marketing definitions is “meeting needs profitably”. The word “need” is central in the context of marketing and we will delve into this concept in a future lecture. But for now you have to remember that needs are basic human requirements such as food, water, clothing, air. Many times needs can be hidden or not clearly stated, so our role as marketers is to identify unmet needs and satisfy them or meet them profitably. Another way to look at it, is to identify needs that are already met, but you believe that you have the expertise and you are able to more fully satisfy the customer’s needs, to outperform the competition. Not an easy task for sure, but definitely not impossible. Peter Drucker, who was a leader in contemporary management theory stated: There will always, one can assume, be need for some selling. But the aim of marketing is to make selling superfluous. The aim of marketing is to know and understand the customer so well that the product or service fits them and sells itself. Ideally, marketing should result in a customer who is ready to buy. Those were the four marketing definitions I chose for the purpose of the course. Now we have a general understanding of what marketing is, which will help us to build our further knowledge. Leveraging Branding for Long-Term Growth

13:02
According to Barbara Kahn, director of the Jay H. Baker Retailing Center at Wharton, the increasing popularity of social media has two implications for marketers: First, customers now control the message and second, companies must make sure that key elements of their brand can translate throughout the world. In a recent interview with Wharton MBA candidate Alexandra Idol, Kahn discusses her new book, Global Brand Power: Leveraging Branding for Long-Term Growth, the brand "as a mechanism for growth" and how companies can become more customer focused.

How To Build A Brand Online

Join Affiliate Marketing Mastery: https://affiliatemarketingmastery.com/special-masterclass/?utm_medium=social&utm_source=youtube&utm_campaign=affiliate-marketing-mastery-promo&utm_term=how-to-build-a-brand-online&utm_content=lc-youtube-description In this video, Stefan shares with you how to build a brand online. Building a brand is the ultimate competitive advantage in your business; it is what is going to allow you to succeed and prosper, long-term. Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon.com once said, “Your brand is what people say about you when you are not in the room”. A lot of business owners focus on building a business, rather than a brand. A study done by Inc. magazine and the National Business Incubator Association (NBIA) revealed that 80 percent of new businesses fail within the first five years. Branding for Realtors | Real Estate Branding Ideas & Tips Buy my book today! http://bit.ly/bestbrandingbook Contact me: http://www.edwindearborn.com/contact/ Connect with me on LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/edwindearborn/ From a real estate standpoint, you are making a promise about the quality and type of work you provide for clients. There are several aspects of developing a real estate agent brand. The most effective agents have an effective marketing plan and have branded themselves well. Your real estate solutions for your clients are unique, valuable, and need to be communicated. The Orange County Register featured Edwin Dearborn as a true “Marketing Expert”. Edwin has also been featured in Entrepreneur, CBS MoneyWatch, Social Media Today, and other national media outlets. Edwin has appeared as a keynote speaker for Sony and the American Marketing Association. Edwin was formally educated in marketing and public relations in Hollywood, CA in the early 1990’s. His new book, Power Branding Secrets reveals how any entrepreneur, startup or existing small business can catapult their brand’s awareness, thus generating more publicity, inbound leads and higher sales. In my opinion, one the greatest opportunities in my industry's arena is real estate branding. I say this due to the fact that so many real estate agents sound the same as well as look the same. Too many real estate agents and brokers conduct the same types of real estate branding and marketing efforts as 99% of their competitors. My definition of branding is, "Your distinctive, indispensable attributes and value." The core of all branding strategies and efforts is to ensure that you create a distinctive and memorable impression within the minds of your target audience. To achieve this objective, one must incorporate many tools, such as logos, slogans, websites, events, public relations, as well as well-crafted content that can be shared and found within organic search. http://www.powerbrandingsecrets.com/r...
