When William Bouguereau unveiled La Jeunesse de Bacchus (The Youth of Bacchus) at the 1884 Paris Salon, he had something to prove. Impressionism and the 19th century avant-garde was taking the art world by storm, and Bouguereau wanted to reaffirm the grandeur and dominance of French academic art. Over the course of three years he meticulously painted The Youth of Bacchus, an immense testament to his skill and conviction as an artist. The work has hung in Bouguereau’s Paris studio since it was completed in 1884, and has previously only left only three times for exhibition. Now, the painting comes to New York, to be offered by the direct descendants of Bouguereau in Sotheby’s Impressionist & Modern Art Evening Sale. But exactly how does one ship a 20 foot, 135 year old painting mounted within a 1,300 pound frame? In this episode of Expert Voices, Pascale Pavageau, Sotheby’s Parisian Head of 19th Century Paintings, supervises the transport of this monumental masterpiece using an expert team of art restorers, handlers, and historians. From http://www.kevincaron.com - Artist Kevin Caron squeezes two 9-foot-tall sculptures through a 6-foot door as he installs his art show at the Chandler Center for the Arts .... We follow Caron from his Phoenix art studio as he transports 25 sculptures to the Chandler Center for the Arts 20 miles away. The crew eases the first 9-foot-tall sculpture, The Runner, which weighs 1,100 pounds, off the trailer and up the long ramp to the gallery's doorway. They tip it on its side to move it through the double doors and into the gallery. Next is 9-foot-tall Cosmography. They wheel it off the trailer on a hand cart and up the ramp. They tip it on its side and use two dollies in the front and a hand cart in the back as they wriggle the sculpture through the doors, which are slightly narrower than the artwork itself. Once those monumental sculptures are inside the gallery, the crew transports the smaller sculptures inside. Next they stand up Cosmography, the centerpiece of the show, in the middle of the room. Next they take The Runner off its cart and lower it to the ground in two steps so all of its weight isn't lowered too fast. The show starts coming together, with pedestals in place and sculptures atop them. Then you get the first look at the show. Finally, the show title is installed. Next stop: the opening. Its called Kjempeviseslåtten or Ballad of Revolt. The second composition was transcribed for the left hand by Ludwig Wittgenstein’s one armed pianist brother Paul Wittgenstein (Bach-Brahms-Wittgenstein: Chaconne from the Partita for solo violin No. 2 in D minor). SUBSCRIBE: http://www.youtube.com/c/VicStefanu - Let's go visit the Cimitero monumentale di Staglieno which is an extensive cemetery located on a hillside in the district of Staglieno of Genoa, Italy, famous for its monumental sculpture. Covering an area of more than a square kilometre, it is one of the largest cemeteries in Europe. It is a stunning cemetery famous for its extraordinarily delicate & lifelike mourning sculptures Designed by the famous Genovese architect Carlo Barabino in a Neo-Classical style, the Staglieno Cemetery (Cimitero Monumentale di Staglieno) opened in 1851. A compromise between the formality of the traditional orderly camposanto layout and the newly fashionable wilderness style of boschetto irregulare, seen in Père Lachaise in Paris, the grounds included cloisters, garden paths, and a reproduction of the famous Pantheon in Rome. The new cemetery quickly became the fashionable death option, and increasingly was a showcase for world-class sculpture. Greek/Roman style Monuments, mausoleum styled building structures, Shrines commemorating the dead, Famous Italian Sculptors & Artist, are all linked to the dimensional world of the occult worship and spiritual doorways. Roman/Greek style buildings litter our worlds most populated places. They appear as banks, schools, churches, homes, shrines, court building, government buildings , train stations and bus depots. . It is my position that the the structures are dimensional doorways (as they appear on face) which permits the world of the dead to collide with the world of the living. I have envisioned the usual behaviors which cause suicidal thoughts, irrational behaviors, bad unusual dreams. mass killings, and much more demonic behaviors can linked to the such buildings which assist the welcoming of evil spirits. These buildings welcome the return of the dead and the departure of the living. I have experienced (envisioned ) the reality beyond it all and could could make a best seller movie or book about it all. Think about it? You cant drive or walk a block in your town without being exposed to Roman/Greek style shrines in your area. Even house structures have build design in the window and door designs. The Piccirilli Brothers (family) have sculptured their way from Italy into America with their demonic and occult carvings. I will soon hereafter this video release a array of exposures which exposes their work for what it truly represents and the underlying messages contained there in dimensional images. Gerone Wright

Edvard Munch is "somebody who has faced and captured the experience of the things that are deeply a part of our lives," says Eric Fischl. In this video, filmed in the contemporary American artist’s studio, Fischl discusses Munch’s painterly style and why Pikene på broen (Girls on the Bridge), a highlight of Sotheby's Impressionist and Modern Art Evening auction on 14 November in New York, is one of Munch's most powerful masterpieces. James Kalm had been hunkered down in the studio for a week, escaping freezing drizzle, and the Art Basil Miami doldrums of early December. Venturing out into Red Hook Brooklyn, he makes a detour into Peninsula Art Space to view “Strange Form of Life” curated by Johnny Mullen. This group of mostly painters exhibit works that play with the notions of what a painting is, not only regarding what it might depict but, ideas regarding its physical structure, the support and surface. Then we segue to Bushwick to take in “Never Learn Not to Cease to Exist” a collection of recent painting by Nat Meade at Honey Ramka. Mead pictures monumental heads though in an intimate size, with allegoric references to gods, buffoons and “angel headed hipsters” …This is all accomplished using a rich palette of warm tones and textural layering of paint. A musical introduction is provided by Yacobucci. This program was recorded December 13, and 16, 2018.

Executed in Modena, Italy, in the prime year of Basquiat’s short and brilliant career, Untitled is an epic painting, its monumental size and visceral energy marking it as one of the artist’s seminal works. Jean-Michel Basquiat’s explosive tour de force Untitled, 1982, led Christie’s Evening Sale of Post-War and Contemporary Art on 10 May 2016 in New York. It was estimated to realise in excess of $40 million and eventually sold for $57,285,000. As well as having been chosen for the cover of the artist’s catalogue raisonné, Untitled has been included in every major Basquiat retrospective. It contains Basquiat’s heroic portrait of himself as a fiery black devil rising amidst an explosion of paint that has been thrown onto the canvas in the manner of Jackson Pollock. http://www.modernmartialartist.com/downloads/power-of-the-pros/ It had been two years since Joe Frazier had won a hard fought decision over Muhammad Ali. Frazier had defended his championship twice after fighting Ali, and Ali had defeated 9 straight competitors. All the world was demanding a rematch. Frazier intended that to happen, but first, he set his sights on the number one contender. George Foreman was a 4 to 1 underdog, and Frazier expected to be a mere stepping stone on his path to a monumental second fight with Ali. But George Foreman would be anything but easy. By the time Foreman fought Frazier, he had racked up 37 victories in 3 years, most of them ending by knockout in the first few rounds. It was already becoming apparent that Foreman had possibly the greatest punching power of any boxer, or perhaps any fighter, in history. But Foreman swung wide, and seemed to lack technique. As such, Frazier was expected to teach him a lesson in real boxing. The night came, and the two men met in the middle of the ring, Frazier rocking back and forth, but Foreman standing stock still, staring Frazier down, looking eerily calm, no hint of fear in his eyes. The two men both rushed forward. Caroline Bergonzi, the fine art of Metamorphosis. A 24 foot-wingspan phoenix in Manhattan reveals a well-kept secret Monaco artist. New York trusted and nominated her, for this monumental public artwork. Prince Albert of Monaco acknowledged the pioneer with a visit on site. Metamorphosis of the artist. Right after the funeral of her father, Caroline Bergonzi, already an experienced painter, took on metal works, in both welding and casting. Seven years later, of underground experimentations in New York, the Monaco artist raises from the ashes not only with a very specific and unique style, but also with a monumental sculpture in Manhattan. Metamorphosis of the public art process. From her nomination to participate to the City of New York M2M program (Models to Monuments), the artwork evolved from site photos and early sketches into a thorough research through concept writing, prototypes and a dialogue with civil engineer and the New York Park Departments, to get the permits, and finally dive into weeks of fabrication of the beast, until its installation, the official ceremony in Riverside Park South. Metamorphosis of the metal. Caroline Bergonzi has her way with bronze, steel and stainless. When most welders amplify the mass and heaviness of the material, she turns a sheet of metal from 2D into 3D complex and organic shapes, infuses the metal with grace, lightness and movement to artworks, which appear as both fragile and dangerous. Metamorphosis of the district and NYC. Urban and social metamorphoses are symbolized as well by this phoenix. This site-integrated creation faces the Hudson River splendor, in a still flight between the wall of golden Trump towers and the New York landmark of 68th street, the deeply rusted glorious remain of the past industrial era. Metamorphosis for Monaco. Caroline Bergonzi brought back to her country a victory. This monumental public artwork is great news, as a first in foreign land, in the Monegasque artistic history. On August 4th, the artist was invited to private audience with Prince Albert II at the Palace, and on September 24th, the Prince came to the monumental artworks site, in Manhattan, with a full delegation including His Excellency Gildo Pallanca-Pastor, Consul General in New York, and Her Excellency Isabelle Picco, Ambassador of Monaco at the United Nations. The statue is located on the Hudson River at the level of 69th street, West Manhattan. For more information, visit www.carolinebergonzi.com Video par GLV Production : http://www.georgelou.com/.
