Basics of jdbc programming Tutorial -2

15:20
This video deals with the steps involved in writing a jdbc program. I have included a basic jdbc program to understand the basic concept. JDBC Driver -A JDBC driver is a software component enabling a Java application to interact with a database. -To connect with individual databases, JDBC (the Java Database Connectivity API) requires drivers for each database. -the JDBC driver contains Classes & Interfaces which are used to interact with database. Examples: 1. sun.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcDriver (Bridge driver/Type 1) 2. oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver (Type-4 driver for Oracle database) 3. com.mysql.jdbc.Driver (Type-4 driver for mysql database) ;etc Steps in writing a Jdbc program 1. Registering to a database Here we need to register the database driver so as to use the packages,interfaces and classes that gets automatically loaded. Class.forName("oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver"); 2. Connecting to a database Here we establish a connection to a specific DB through the driver which is already registered in the previous step- Connection con=DriverManager.getConnection("URL","USERID","PASSWORD"); 3. Preparing the Sql statement sql statements are of 2 types: 1.select 2.Non-select we have generally the CRUD operations to be performed on the database: C-Create R-Read U-update D-delete we generally have 3 types of statements used : a. Statement b. PreparedStatement c. CollableStatement ex: Statement st=con.createStatement(); PreparedStatement pst=con.prepareStatement(query); CollableStatement cst=con.prepareCall(query); 4.Executing the sql query on the database To execute the queries the Statement interface provides the following methods: a. execute();-used mainly for select in pl/sql b. executeQuery();-used mainly for select statement c. executeUpdate();-used mainly for non-select statement 5.Retrieving the Result -For non-select,we store the result in integer return variable ,as we do the insertion,deletion and updation of the database -For select statement ,we will craete reference of ResultSet interface to retrieve the table 6.Closing the Connection con.close();

Standard Steps to Develop JDBC Application

02:01
This video actually shows what JDBC does and how to develop JDBC application by using these standard steps. Basic Components of JDBC:- 1. Driver: It is a translator to convert Java calls into Specific Database calls and Specific Database calls into Java calls. 2. Connection : To convert these calls(Java and DB calls) some connection must be required and that is nothing but Connection. In short, From Java Application to reach Database Connection must be required. 3. Statement: Its purpose is to send SQL Query to the DB under to bring the results from DB to Java Application. 4. ResultSet: It's nothing but set of Results processed in DB. From this ResultSet Java Application can get the result of SQL Query. **Standard Steps To Develop JDBC Application** 1.Load and Register Driver class. -Syntax: Class.forName(“Driver Class Name”); 2. Establish Connection Between Java Application and Database. - Syntax: Connection con=DriverManager.getConnection(“jdbc_url”,”user”,”pwd”); 3. Create Statement Object. - Syntax: Statement st=con.createStatement(); 4. Send and Execute SQL Query and Stored in Resultset. -Syntax: ResultSet rs=st.executeQuery(“select * from Employees”); 5. Process Result From ResultSet. while(rs.next) { Syntax: System.out.println(rs.getInt(1)+” ”+rs.getString(2)+” ”+rs.getString(3)); } Where rs.getInt(1) is the method contains first column of Employee table and its type is integer. Ex.eno is type Int. And same for String Type column 2 & 3 it may be ename & eadd. 6. Close the Connection. Syntax: con.close(); ***A Simple Java(JDBC) Program Using these Standard Steps:**** import java.sql.*; // package for SQL classes public class JdbcDriver { public static void main(String[] args) throws Exception { // Step1: Class.forName(“oracle.jdbc.OracleDriver”); // Step2: Connection con=DriverManager.getConnection(“jdbc:oracle:thin:@localhost:1521:XE”,”root”,”apple”); //Step 3: Statement st=con.createStatement(); // Step 4 & 5: ResultSet rs=st.executeQuery(select * from Employees); while(rs.next) { System.out.println(rs.getInt(1)+” ”+rs.getString(2)+’’ ”+rs.getString(3)); } // Step 6: con.close(); } //closing of main method } // closing of class Note: In this program ,we are using Type 4 Driver i.e We are loading Type 4 Driver. Conclusion: In these steps, Connection, DriverManager, Statement, ResultSet are the classes which are present in java.sql.*; package. So by using these Standard Steps We can Develop any JDBC Application.

Soulmates / Twin flames - How to recognize the signs You found Your Divine partner

11:08
I've been asked many times on what are the signs you met your True Soulmate or Twin flame. Not everyone is going to experience that same type of signs because everyone's situation is different and unique. Here are a few signs recognize the signs to know if you met or will meet your Soulmate. How to know if Twin flames or divine partner signs. Instant feeling of a spiritual connection when you meet a someone you share a soulmate connection, you can feel the vibrations and not understand this connection. something is telling you that you both are sent together to come soulmate mission together. Direct soul bond feeling, not like anything you have ever felt with anyone, it is a very powerful surge of energy that has a magnetic pull attached, this is a Twin flame connection that you know deep in your core. This person will change your life and you will never look or feel the same about anything in your life. This called a spiritual awakening and realizing this bond is very scary at the same time. Many times there difficulties with the union process with twin flames, they can go on many years with trying to connect on one accord together, its very painful process, but worth it in the end. Past life lives soulmates, is when you get an instant feeling as if I know this person and we met years ago, but both of you have no record of why you both feel so connected. There is a unfinished business and energy that you both are meant to fulfill to help you both spiritually grow on your paths. This also can turn into a beautiful long term relationship. You need to go with the moment and what your feelings are for that person in your life currently. You may find that you were not spiritually connected to that person but that person was sent to you to help you on your soul mission and prepare you for your divine Soulmate or meet your twin flame for the future. When you are with your Twin flame they know what you're thinking and finish your sentences, This is very common for twin flames to feel each other's thoughts and since what the other is going to say right before they say it. We can't define who is the perfect soulmate or who we want to be our twin flame. It has to be the one that you are connected to and you can't pick and choose. Usually it's the opposite or not your type that you find is your divine soulmate or twin flame. Soulmates are meant to show us our true centers and help us to fulfill our life mission to reach our goals. Divine soulmates can bring out the best in us and also the worst in us. We need to be careful on putting so much energy into finding or Soulmate or twin flame. The number one sign you will like knowledge this person is connected to me on a spiritual level that I have so much more with this person to uncover and grow. Even though you have just met this person or realize that later in your relationship. It's best to take it slow with every relationship. Many times you may meet Soulmate for early in life and be with this person for many years then come to realize this person has made an impact in your life and preparing yourself for the ultimate divine soulmate or twin flame. Don't let ego stand in the way with your relationship. You are preparing for your soul partner for your future. Ego will block you from coming to a divine union with this person. It will cloud your spirit and that will be impossible for you to unite with your twin flame. You both will be going through tests to complete your soul mission together in this lifetime. This may be with your divine Soulmate your twin flame, it's never good to go specifically looking for a type of Soulmate Keep in mind Twin flames can mimic a soulmate connection and you need to be careful on deciding what type soul connection you have. Twin Flames go through a lot of chaos and negativity. So you have to be prepared and ready to meet your twin flame or divine soul mate partner. categorizing, analyzing relationships and trying to put together the optimal soulmate for you is not a good idea. __________________________________ If you have a question, let me know in the comments area and I will help you the best way I can. R tutorial: connecting to a database

03:38
Learn more about connecting to databases with R: https://www.datacamp.com/courses/importing-data-in-r-part-2 Welcome to part two of importing data in R! The previous course dealt with accessing data stored in flat files or excel files. In a professional setting, you'll also encounter data stored in relational databases. In this video, I'll briefly talk about what a relational database is and then I'll explain how you can connect to it. In the next video, I'll explain how you can import data from it! So, what's a relational database? There's no better way to show this than with an example. Take this database, called company. It contains three tables, employees, products and sales. Like a flat file, information is displayed in a table format. The employees table has 5 records and three fields, namely id, name and started_at. The id here serves as a unique key for each row or record. Next, the products table contains the details on four products. We're dealing with data from a telecom company that's selling both with and without a contract. Also here, each product has an identifier. Finally, there's the sales table. It lists what products were sold by who, when and for what price. Notice here that the ids in employee_id and product_id correspond to the ids that you can find in the employees and products table respectively. The third sale for example, was done by the employee with id 6, so Julie. She sold the product with id 9, so the Biz Unlimited contract. These relations make this database very powerful. You only store all necessary information once in nicely separated tables, but can connect the dots between different records to model what's happening. How the data in a relational database is stored and shuffled around when you make adaptations, depends on the so-called database management system, or DBMS you're using. Open-source implementations such as MySQL, postgreSQL and SQLite are very popular, but there are also proprietary implementations such as Oracle Database and Microsoft SQL server. Practically all of these implementations use SQL, or sequel, as the language for querying and maintaining the database. SQL stands for Structured Query Language. Depending on the type of database you want to connect to, you'll have to use different packages. Suppose the company database I introduced before is a MySQL database. This means you'll need the RMySQL package. For postgreSQL you'll need RpostgreSQL, for Oracle, you'll use ROracle and so on. How you interact with the database, so which R functions you use to access and manipulate the database, is specified in another R package called DBI. In more technical terms, DBI is an interface, and RMySQL is the implementation. Let's install the RMySQL package, which automatically installs the DBI package as well. Loading only the DBI package will be enough to get started. The first step is creating a connection to the remote MySQL database. You do this with dbConnect(), as follows. The first argument specifies the driver that you will use to connect to the MySQL database. It sure looks a bit strange, but the MySQL() function from the RMySQL package simply constructs a driver for us that dbConnect can use. Next, you have to specify the database name, where the database is hosted, through which port you want to connect, and finally the credentials to authenticate yourself. This is an actual database that we're hosting, so you can try these commands yourself! The result of the dbConnect call, con, is a DBI connection object. You'll need to pass this object to whatever function you're using to interact with the database. Before we do that, let's get familiar with this connection object in the exercises!

SSH with Mac Terminal

08:39
This is a quick intro on how to use the "Terminal" application with Mac OSX to log into a remote computer using SSH. There are dedicated apps for this (equivalent to Putty on Windows) but this is nice as it is built into the operating system. This also shows you how to display colors with your ls command with a quick little change to your account profile information. I am sure there is a more tightly designed way to to do this, but this quick solution seems to work well. Here are a couple links to where I got that tip from, and on how to do a similar thing with your own local terminal. Enabling colors for SSH to Linux from Mac OS (I based my solution off of the third post, but with a couple slight changes. Use "--color" instead of -G as your option, and you can insert it directly into your .bash_profile file if you would like. http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1550288/mac-os-x-terminal-colors Enabling colors in Terminal in Mac OS http://it.toolbox.com/blogs/lim/how-to-fix-colors-on-mac-osx-terminal-37214

Leveraging Oracle Multitenant from Visual Studio and .NET

10:08
.NET developers: Watch this video to learn how to take advantage of Oracle Multitenant, a new feature of Oracle Database 12c, while using Visual Studio. Oracle Multitenant makes it easy for developers to quickly make copies of existing databases, create/destroy new test databases quickly, and to share databases with other developers. If you would like to try out what you see in this video you will need access to an Oracle Database version 12.1 or later that was configured to use a container database. You will also need to download and install: 1) Oracle Developer Tools for Visual Studio version 12.1 or higher 2) Oracle Data Provider for .NET version 12.1 or higher This software can be found on the .NET Developer center (http://otn.oracle.com/dotnet) as part of the "ODTwithODAC" download packaging. For instructions on how to install this, see the Quick Start Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zrzDOk8gg5A Visual Studio 2012 and 2013 is supported - any edition except Express Edition (Community Edition is supported). Oracle Multitenant, introduced in Oracle Database 12c Release 1 (12.1), enables an Oracle database to function as a multitenant container database (CDB) that includes zero, one, or many customer-created pluggable databases (PDBs). A PDB is a portable collection of schemas, schema objects, and nonschema objects that appears to any Oracle client application as a non-CDB. Note: all Oracle database versions prior to Oracle Database 12c Release 1 (12.1) are known as non-CDBs. A CDB contains one seed database, which is a system-supplied template that the CDB can use to create new PDBs. The seed PDB is named PDB$SEED. You cannot add or modify objects in PDB$SEED. Because new PDBs are essentially copied from the seed rather than created from scratch, PDB creation time is generally much faster than creating a non-CDB. PDBs can also be cloned from other PDBs in a similarly fast amount of time. PDBs can be unplugged, which means they are removed from the CDB, and exist on the database server simply as a set of files: a metadata XML file along with some database files (.DBFs). This combination of metadata file and database files can then be easily plugged into any other CDB that is compatible with the PDB. From the point of view of .NET developers who have SYSDBA privileges, this makes testing a database configuration with your application as simple as cloning an existing PDB, or plugging in a PDB in the form of some provided database files. Similarly, a database configuration can be shared with other developers, either by cloning or through unplugging and sharing the database files. If a user with SYSDBA privileges makes a connection to a CDB in Visual Studio Server Explorer, a Pluggable Databases Node appears in the tree control. When that node is expanded, the seed PDB, along with any other available PDBs, appear as child nodes. From there, operations such as Create New, Plug, Unplug, Clone, Delete, Open, and Close can all be easily achieved.

Weekly Oracle Reading || Nov 19th - Nov 25th 🔮

08:11
*☆*Weekly Reading*☆* *What's happening: Look Within/Anguish. *What tools can we use: Hope/Mystery. *What's the week's outcome: Stillness/Balance/Connection. Decks: #OracleofEchoes #AngelsandAncestorsOracle #Queen of the Moon #TheSpiritAnimalOracle #TheIlluminatedEarthOracle ~~~~~~~ We come to know and understand what's causing our anguish. By going within, we reclaim our power as we look at the root of our negative emotions. We remember we can choose different perspectives about a situation. This allows more peace through the difficult times. ~~ Be hopeful in the face of the unknown. Some things are a mystery, yet the tool here is to still keep hope and faith alive, even if unsure about the next step. ~~ A balance is struck between alone/stillness time and connecting with friends and family this week. Some will forego working overtime, instead choosing to connect with their inner selves and close friends and relatives. Balance in life is achieved this week. Taking time to quiet the mind and to connect with what makes us happy is the most awesome gift of the week to ourselves. Extended Message: Snake - Cast off the old. Reveal your true colors, talents and gifts to the world. Nightingale Spirit - In your anguish, remember love is all around. Sovereignty - You are powerful, act like it! You have the power to bring disparate people and belief systems together. Find ways to exhibit your sovereignty. ~~~~~~~ Have a blessed and abundant week! 🔮~For a reading, check out: https://abundantlifetarot.com/readings-and-adviser-services/ 🔮~Want more insight on how to infuse law of attraction into your life? #Advanced java tutorial : #adv java Procedure to create a DSN for Microsoft ODBC Driver for Oracle: 1)Keep the Oracle s/w ready (Installed on your computer/system) 2) Make sure that values in the path environment variable are placed as shown below: my computer-----right clique----- properties----- select advanced tab-------environment Variable-----user/system variables Add Variable Name:PATH Value:D:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_11\bin;D:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\BIN;. Note: Dont create same path in user & system variable otherwise it will create problem. 3)Create DSN Optimal while working with local/standalone oracle & mandatory ----dsn string should be passed while working with centralized oracle(Sever) Drivers Information: Sun MS has given 5 approached/methodologies/architectures to make vendor companies to develop JDBC drivers based on jdbc specification & guideline, rules. Type 1 Type 2 Type 3 Type 4 Type 5(latest) -The sun Supplied built in JDBC Driver of JDK is Type 1 mechanism based JDBC Driver. - Type 1 JDBC Driver internally uses native code(the code is used in java but written in C/C++) to interact with ODBC Driver. - Type 1 Driver can interact with multiple ODBC drivers of different database s.w. -To use JDBC Driver in our appln it must be registers with DriverManager service. -Driver manager is basic service available in every java application having the capability to manage JDBC Driver. -We can access DriverManager service in our appln by using java.sql.DriverManager class. - To register the jdbc driver the object of jdbc driver class must be placed/aviailable in DriverManager service as shown below: //create the object of jdbc driver class(Type 1) sun.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcDriver obj = new sun.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcDriver(); //register jdbc driver with DriverManager service DriverManager.registerDriver(obj); #Standard stpes to develop JDBC code in Java appln: 1)Register JDBC Driver with DriverManger service. 2)Establish the connection between java application & database sotware. 3)Create JDBC Statement object. 4)Send & execute SQL queries in DB s/w. 5) Gather the result from database s/w & process them in java appln. 6)Close the resourecse(like connecion, stmt) Note ; 1 Registering JDBC Driver is nothing but keeping JDCB driver class object in driver manager service. 2) Establishing tje connection i nothing but creating comuunnicatoin channel/bridge/stream between java appln & database s/w. 3) JDBC Statement object is nothing but java appln & database s/w. It carries input(Sql queries) from java appln to databse s/w & it also carries/bring output(given by database s/w) back to java appln. @. How to develop java application/program without using main(-) method? # Minimum s/w setup required for Type 1 JDBC Application development:- 1)JDK any(UPTo JDK 1.6) 2)Oracle any version (Oracle 10g) 3)DSN Create for Microsoft ODBC Driver (for like oradsn). PROTOTYPE OF registerDriver(-), getConnection(-,-,-) method:- public static void registerDriver(Driver driver) throws SQL Exception *1 *2 public static Connection getConnection(String url,String dbuser,String dbpwd) throws SQLException *1 -- indicate regsterDriver(-) mthod must be called having implemantation class object of java.sql.Driver(Interface). *2 --indicates values(generally Connection) of getConneciton(-,-,-) method retuns the implementation class object of java.sql.Connection (Interface). WHat is protocole:- Protocol is the set of rules followed by two parties to commnitcate with each other. Two Types of protocol 1)Application level protocol: Contains rules to get interaction between two s/ws or two s/w specification. ex jdbc:odbc http rmi Etc 2)Network Level Protocol: Contains rules to perform interaction b/w two physical computers ex: TCP/IP DriverManager service uses jdbc:odbc as application level protocol to interact with dataabase s/w using Type 1JDBC driver & ODBC Driver. I Q. When DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:odbc:oradsn","scott","boss"); is called? - Based on given jdbc url the type 1 driver will be activated. - Based on dsn name (like "oradsn") word of jdbc url the type 1 driver will becomes ready to Microsoft ODBC Driver for Oracle. -DriverManager service takes the support of Type 1 jdbc driver & odbc driver to establish the connection with Oracle database s.w. In this process the jdbc:odbc protocol will be utilized. -It returns JDBC connection object representing the connectivity with Oracle DB S.w from java applln
