Healthy Bites - Salted Roasted Almonds: Almonds can be the best healthy snacks as they contain good monounsaturated fat, vitamin E, and are low in sugar. You can add salted roasted almonds to your diet as a source of magnesium. These essential nutrients help give you energy and activated the enzymes you need to get usable fuel from the carbohydrates and your body fats. Salted, freshly roasted almonds are a popular snack food but the already roasted pre-package variety is by far too salty. Here is how you make them at home with all the nutrients and taste attached. You Would Need: 2 cups blanched whole almonds. 1 tbsp salt, preferably fine sea salt. 2 tsp sweet, hot, or smoked paprika. How You Do It: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Spread the almonds on a baking sheet. Sprinkle them with a little water and toss on the sheet. (The water will help the salt and paprika cling to the nuts.) Sprinkle the nuts with the salt and the paprika, tossing to ensure that they are all evenly coated. Spread out the nuts in an even layer. Place in the oven and roast the almonds, stirring occasionally, for 15 to 20 minutes. Transfer to a bowl and serve warm or cooled to room temperature. Other variations could be Nuts. Any of your favorite nuts can be used. Try cashews, skinned hazelnuts, or Brazils. Paprika comes in sweet, hot, and smoked varieties, so use whichever you prefer. Grab sugar, honey, rosemary, sea salt, and almonds and we'll make a snack perfect for any occasion. Recipe below and at madison brown.net RECIPE 2 cups whole almonds 2 tbsp honey 2 tbsp sugar 1/4 - 1/2 cup sea salt, course 3 tbsp sugar 1/2 tsp chopped fresh rosemary or spice/herb of your choice 1. Melt honey and sugar until sugar is dissolved. 2. Toss almonds in mixture until absorbed. 3. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place almonds on baking sheet in a single layer. 4. Bake at 325 degrees for 15 minutes. 5. While they are baking, mix sugar, sea salt and rosemary together in a bowl large enough to toss the almonds in. 6. After almonds have roasted, immediately toss them in the sea salt mixture and let cool back on the baking sheet.

Than all I want to do is heating up the oven to make something yummy. Bagels: (I found the recipe here and just did a few changes. :) http://www.thesugarhit.com/2014/03/sea-salt-poppy-seed-bagels.html ) - mix 660g flour with 2,5 tsp salt - mix 1 tbsp of maple syrup with 400 ml of warm water and 1 tsp of yeast - knead everything with a hand mixer for about 10 minutes until you have a very even dough surface - let it rest for 2 hours - divide it into 11 pieces, make a hole inside the little ball and form it into a bagel - Let it boil for 30 seconds in a pot with hot water and 1,5 tbsp of maple syrup or honey - put them on a tray with polenta, sprinkle them with something yummy and bake at 250 degrees celscius for 10 minutes and at 200 degrees for another 10 minutes Almonds: - roast 150 gramms of almonds at 180 degrees celcius for 10 minutes, remove them from the oven, mix one egg white with 2 small tsp of sea salt - mix everything and bake for another 5 minutes Enjoy everything in a warm and cozy place. :) instagram: https://www.instagram.com/tinasosna/ website: https://tinasosna.com shop: https://www.etsy.com/de/shop/tinasosna blog: http://www.worteinbildern.blogspot.com

If you want a roasted flavor, leave the almonds in the oven a little longer until they are warm and golden brown. *note: you can skip this step but I find the warm almonds turn into almond butter faster then room temperature almonds, so I prefer to start with them warm. Place warmed almonds into your food processor and pulse a few times until the almonds have begun to break down. Then let the processor run, stopping whenever you need to scrape the almonds off the sides of the processor. Once the old release from the almonds it will become very smooth and creamy. This is what you are looking for. Be patient, it can take anywhere between 15-25 minutes. Makes 1.5 cups of almond butter. Crispy Almonds - How to Soak and Dehydrate Raw Almonds and Why you Should

Why you need to soak almonds and How to soak and dehydrate raw almonds in a dehydrator or an oven making Crispy Almonds. Ingredients: Raw (unpasteurized) almonds Clean Warm Filtered Water Natural Sea Salt (Pink Himalayan Salt) Place your almonds in a large glass bowl giving enough room for the almonds to swell. Add enough warm filtered water to cover. Add the salt - 1tbs per 4 cups/500g. Stir and cover with a clean towel and secure with a band. Leave to soak for around 8 hours or overnight. Rinse and strain the almonds, patting dry slightly. Place on dehydrator sheets (or on a baking tray in an oven). Set the temperature to around 105-110ºF / 40-45ºC and leave to dry for between 12-24 hours. If you are using an oven, set the temperature to the lowest setting and every few hours open the oven to allow the air to circulate and the temperature to not get too high. To check to see if they are ready, remove an almond and allow to cool before biting into it. When it is very crunchy, with no softness whatsoever, then your almonds are ready. Allow to cool then store either in a mason jar or a large storage bag (freezer bag) and place in the fridge. They will last at least 6-8 weeks in the fridge. That's it! Learn how to make candied peanuts right at home! Super easy, quick and so much cheaper. You can use any nut you wish including peanuts, pecans, almonds, cashews, etc. as long as they are raw. Be forewarned, these suckers are addicting! ***Click 'show more' to see full recipe and all info below*** What you'll need: 2 cups raw peanuts or cashews or almonds or pecans or any other nut you wish 1 cup granulated sugar 1/3 cup water optional - vanilla extract, cinnamon, cocoa powder, chili powder, sea salt, etc. In a large heavy bottomed skillet, combine all 3 ingredients and bring to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring constantly. Once up to a boil, continue to stir and cook over medium-high until the water evaporates and the sugar syrup seizes and crystallizes. Continue stirring and the crystallized sugar will start to melt and caramelize. Stir this to coat the peanuts until all the sugar has caramelized and no more granulated sugar remains. Remove from heat and immediately stir in 1 tsp vanilla extract if desired and then turn out onto a cookie sheet lined with a silicone baking mat or parchment paper. Sprinkle with cinnamon, cocoa powder, chili powder, sea salt, etc to flavor to your tastes. Let cool completely and then break up nuts into individual pieces. Store in an airtight container. Makes 2 cups of candied peanuts. Enjoy!! Toss toasted almonds to coat and allow to cool in the mixture, tossing periodically to ensure even coating. Nuts will keep in airtight container for about a week. ****Spicy Buffalo Ranch**** INGREDIENTS 1 cup raw almonds 1/4 cup buffalo sauce 1 tablespoon ranch seasoning mix 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder INSTRUCTIONS Preheat oven to 350°F, and prepare baking sheets with a silicone baking mat or sprayed parchment paper. Toss almonds with buffalo sauce, ranch seasoning and garlic powder. Place on prepared baking sheet, and roast for 15 minutes until golden and toasty. Toss almonds with coconut oil, curry powder, honey, ginger, coconut flakes and salt. Toast for 15-17 minutes. Nuts will keep in airtight container for about a week. ****Mexican Hot Chocolate**** INGREDIENTS 1 cup raw almonds 2 tablespoons honey 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon 1 packet of hot cocoa 1-2 tablespoons Marshmallow Bits (ground fine in a spice grinder) INSTRUCTIONS Preheat oven to 350°F, and prepare baking sheets with a silicone baking mat or sprayed parchment paper. Toss almonds in honey, coating evenly. Place coated almonds on prepared baking sheet, and spread out with a spatula (or spoon), making sure there is a single layer of nuts and they aren't overlapping. Roast for 15 minutes until golden. Prepare coating by grinding marshmallow bits in a spice grinder until fine. Place in a bowl with ground cinnamon and the hot cocoa packet. Toss toasted almonds in prepared cocoa mixture and allow to cool in the mixture, tossing periodically to ensure even coating. An early Classic-period (460–480 AD) Mayan tomb from the site in Rio Azul had vessels with the Maya glyph for cacao on them with residue of a chocolate drink, suggests the Maya were drinking chocolate around 400 AD. Documents in Maya hieroglyphs stated chocolate was used for ceremonial purposes, in addition to everyday life. The Maya grew cacao trees in their backyards, and used the cacao seeds the trees produced to make a frothy, bitter drink. By the 15th century, the Aztecs gained control of a large part of Mesoamerica and adopted cacao into their culture. They associated chocolate with Quetzalcoatl, who, according to one legend, was cast away by the other gods for sharing chocolate with humans, and identified its extrication from the pod with the removal of the human heart in sacrifice. In contrast to the Maya, who liked their chocolate warm, the Aztecs drank it cold, seasoning it with a broad variety of additives, including the petals of the Cymbopetalum penduliflorum tree, chile pepper, allspice, vanilla, and honey. The Aztecs were not able to grow cacao themselves, as their home in the Mexican highlands was unsuitable for it, so chocolate was a luxury imported into the empire. Those who lived in areas ruled by the Aztecs were required to offer cacao seeds in payment of the tax they deemed "tribute". Cocoa beans were often used as currency. For example, the Aztecs used a system in which one turkey cost 100 cacao beans and one fresh avocado was worth three beans.

Sea Salt Almond Butter Chocolate Bark

Raw, vegan superfood chocolate bark you can make in minutes. Ok, so the title of this recipe is way too long, but I felt it best described what this creamy, melt in your mouth, chocolate delight had going on. I could have just called it Superfood Chocolate Bark, but that's so boring, even though it's packed with so many health benefits it should be added to the USDA food pyramid. Seriously, look at that ingredient list and tell me this shouldn't be its own food group. We've got coconut oil that's full of good fats and lauric acid to help support the thyroid, energy production, hormonal balance and has antiviral, antibacterial properties. Raw cacao powder is packed with antioxidants and a fun way to get in some essential minerals like magnesium, chromium and zinc. Almond butter to add some protein and richness. Medicinal mushrooms to help the immune system and goji berries for antioxidants and trace minerals. Another bonus is this is low glycemic and if you skip the goji berries, zero glycemic. If you don't have stevia and xylitol, you can easily substitute with your favorite sweetener. This recipe is a snap to make and you probably have most of the ingredients in your pantry. If not, check out the City & Sea Trading shop and stock up! www.cityandseatrading.com Sea Salt-Almond Butter-Chocolate Bark Makes 12 servings Prep time: 15 minutes, plus 20 minutes to chill Ingredients: 1/2 cup coconut oil, warmed to liquid 2/3 cup raw cacao powder ¼ cup raw almond butter 1-2 tablespoons xylitol granules (use less if you prefer more of a dark/bittersweet chocolate) 1 tablespoon reishi powder (optional) 1 tablespoon chaga powder (optional) 3 drops liquid stevia Dash of vanilla powder or 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Goji berries (optional) Sea salt Directions: Blend all ingredients except salt and goji berries in a blender until smooth. You want to break down those xylitol granules, so about 1 minute in a Vitamix. Pour chocolate over a baking sheet lined with parchment or wax paper. Sprinkle with sea salt and goji berries. Chopped nuts would also be a great addition or other dried fruit. Chill in freezer for 20 minutes or until solid. Break into desired size pieces by hand. Homemade Salted Almond Caramels

Ingredients: 1/2 cup slivered almonds 2 teaspoons butter 1/4 teaspoon sea salt additional butter 1 cup granulated sugar 1/2 cup brown sugar 1/2 cup light corn syrup 3/4 cup heavy cream 3/4 cup milk 4 tablespoons butter 1 teaspoon vanilla Method: Preheat oven to 300*. Line a cookie sheet with foil. Place slivered almonds on foil. Cut butter into small pieces and dot on top of almonds. Sprinkle with sea salt. Bake for 10 minutes. Remove from oven and gently stir to turn the almonds. Return to oven and continue baking for another 5 to 7 minutes, being care to not over brown the nuts. Set aside to cool. Grease the bottom and sides of a 9 x 3 inch loaf pan with butter. In a 2 quart (large) saucepan combine sugars, corn syrup, cream, milk and butter. Cook and stir, with a wooden spoon, over medium heat until the sugars dissolve. Continue cooking, stirring occasionally, to firm ball stage (248*F) about 35 minutes. Remove from heat. Stir in vanilla and almonds. Pour into prepared pan. Allow to cool. Cut into squares. Wrap each caramel in plastic wrap or waxed paper. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Serve at room temperature. Makes 4 dozen. Notes: I doubled the amount of almonds that I toasted, so that I could have a few extra to put on a salad.
