10 Most Dangerous Water Animals In The World ► Subscribe: https://goo.gl/vHN6qB For copyright matters please contact us at: [email protected] There are many different types of creatures that live in streams, lakes, seas and oceans. And while many of these creatures are harmless, there are many that are incredibly dangerous if you happen to have an encounter with them. These dangerous animals lurk beneath the surface of the water in a world vastly different than ours, and must be deadly to survive. Join us as we take a look at 10 of the most dangerous water creatures. 10. Australian Box Jellyfish – This creature is not one to be messed around with if you happen to swim into a swarm of them. And while they may seem harmless, the Australian box jellyfish is considered to be the most venomous marine animal in the world. They have tentacles that are covered with tiny darts called nematocysts, and they are loaded with poison. 9. Flower Urchin – Beautiful but deadly, these sea urchins are extremely venomous. They look like a bouquet of small flowers; to which they get their name from. They feed on invertebrates, sponges, and dead fish, and have well developed jaws for grinding up their prey. 8. The Saltwater Crocodile – Evolving around 200 million years in the Mesozoic epoch, crocodiles have far outlived the dinosaurs. The Salt water crocodile is the world’s largest reptile, and they have been known to grow up to 27 feet long and weigh 2,465 lbs. 7. Textile Cone Snail – Mother nature teaches us that anything in nature that is beautiful, is most likely deadly, and a warning to predators and humans to not touch or disturb them. This holds true for the Textile Cone Snail. 6. The Sea Snake – These highly venomous marine snakes are closely related and belong to the same family as the cobra. There are two independently evolved groups: the true sea snakes which are related to Australian terrestrial elapids, and the sea kraits which are related to Asian cobras. 5. The Lionfish – Lionfish are skilled hunters, using specialized bilateral swim bladder muscles to provide exquisite control of location in the water column, allowing the fish to alter its center of gravity to better attack prey. The lionfish then spreads its large pectoral fins and swallows its prey in a single motion. 4. The Stingray – Stingrays are a group of rays, which are cartilaginous fish related to sharks, and are one of the oceans deadliest creatures. Most stingrays have one or more barbed stingers on their tails, which are used exclusively for self-defense. 3. Blue-Ringed Octopus – This octopus has some of the most striking colors of any ocean creature. They get their name from the brightly blue colored rings on its body. 2. Needlefish – These strange looking creatures are very slender, and have a single dorsal fin, placed far back on the body. Needlefish are capable of making short jumps out of the water at up to 37 mph. Since Needlefish swim near the surface, they often leap over the decks of shallow boats rather than going around. 1. The Moray Eel - Most attacks stem from disruption of a moray's burrow to which they react strongly, but an increasing number of accidents also occur during hand feeding of morays by divers, an activity often used by dive companies to attract tourists.

Check out the most dangerous sea creatures! This top 10 list of scary deep sea monsters has some of the most terrifying ocean animals you won't believe exist! Titan Triggerfish There's a misconception when swimming in the ocean that it's "obvious" which creatures will attack you and which ones won't. Like the Titan Triggerfish. Take a look at it. What do you think? Looks like a pretty regular fish right? Exactly! Plus, if you do a little research on Triggerfish as a species, they're actually pretty friendly fish, but this one is in a league of its own, and not in a good way. 7. Flower Urchin While some creatures might look like harmless plants, be careful because appearances can be deceiving!! The flower urchin looks like a nice little bouquet of flowers, and it is one of the most frequently encountered sea urchins. Which is not that great because these echinoderms know how to attack when the time is right! 6. Eels Eels are special creatures, and there are many different types of them living underneath the waters. And many you need to be careful of. Some just like to strike, but others, like the Electric Eel, like to just send a shock through your system. The Electric Eel is a creature that can well and truly charge itself up for an attack, and given that you're most likely underwater when you meet this creature, it means the attack is all the more potent. 5. Barracuda Barracuda are pretty recognizable fish. Not only does it get a bad rap because it killed Nemo’s family, but also because of it’s razor sharp teeth and long shiny body. Of all the different types of Barracuda, the Great Barracuda is the most impressive. After all, it has the name "Great" in it. This creature can be up to six feet long, which is pretty menacing on its own, but its trademark is its speed. 4. Pufferfish There are many fish in the oceans that scare people away, but for entirely different reasons. While an eel or a barracuda is a physical threat, a Pufferfish is a threat inside and out. On the outside, the Puffer Fish has plenty of spines, and if threatened, such as when a human approaches it, it'll fill itself with water and even air, to make it look much larger than before. It’s more of a sentence if you try to swallow it, but actually I think it’s kind of cute. 3. Stingray The Stingray is one creature that everyone should fear and respect. While their attacks are rare, they do happen, and like some other creatures on this list, they’re not afraid of attacking when they feel provoked. The most famous case of a Stingray attack was the strike and killing of beloved zookeeper and animal conservationist Steve Irwin, aka the Crocodile Hunter. 2. Sharks You don’t need me to tell you about sharks! While you can argue that sharks have always been feared, it was "Jaws" that helped bring the hysteria of sharks attacking humans to life. Which is actually kind of ironic, as most shark species DON'T attack humans, even when provoked. Shark attacks are actually pretty low when you look at statistics from around the world. 1. Box Jellyfish Surprised? I know it may seem like sharks are the obvious answer for dangerous sea creatures, but when it comes to the Box Jellyfish, it's a whole other story. The Box Jellyfish lives in the Indo-Pacific region and northern Australia. As such, more people are killed in Australia by the Jellyfish than snakes, sharks and crocodiles...combined! Origins Explained is the place to be to find all the answers to your questions, from mysterious events and unsolved mysteries to everything there is to know about the world and its amazing animals!

How do you recognize something that you can touch and something you have to run away from as fast as possible? Here is a list of the most dangerous sea creatures you can meet and how to recognize them! There are so many different species living in the ocean! Some of them are beautiful, some are deadly, and some are both. TIMESTAMPS Fire Coral 0:40 Flower Urchin 1:20 Cone Snail 1:50 Portuguese Man-of-War 2:32 Snea snakes 3:54 Lionfish 4:51 Chironex 5:39 Surgeonfish 6:15 Indonesian needlefish 6:59 Triggerfish 7:34 SUMMARY - Fire Coral. These small organisms can sting, and the effect can be not very serious and it can be quite bad. A stung person may have severe pains, feel nauseated and even vomit, which is not the best thing to do when you are underwater. - Flower Urchin is both very beautiful and very deadly. It contains toxins that can cause anaphylactic shock, convulsions and finally death. You can get poisoned if you step on it when you are in the sea or the ocean. - Scientists say that just one drop of the cone snail’s poison is enough to kill 20 people! Just one drop! - The most mind-blowing fact about Man-of-War is that technically we should call it Men-of-War, and refer to it not as «it», but «they», and here is why: it’s an animal that is made up of a colony of organisms cooperating together. Man-of-war has tentacles that can be 30 feet long, which it uses to paralyze and kill fish and other small creatures. - Sea snakes are much more venomous than their land-living friends. As it turns out, they have to be like that because they hunt fish, so what they need to do is immobilize their prey very quickly not to let it escape. - Many people call the lionfish the most beautiful sea creature in the world. You can find them in the Caribbean and Eastern Atlantic. Lionfishes are not deadly — they do have a venom, but it’s not lethal. However, the pain you will experience if you get stung is so severe that people say you might wish you were dead. - Chironex doesn’t have any teeth, but it’s dangerous as hell. If a person gets stung, they will have excruciating pain, red inflammation in the stung area and heart dysfunction. - Surgeonfish are easily spooked, so you should be extra careful if you see one of them. Don’t make any unexpected fast moves. The good news is, surgeonfish are not aggressive unless, of course, you provoke them. - Indonesian needlefish live in tropical and subtropical waters of the oceans. They, as the name suggests, have a very sharp, needle-like beak, and they are especially dangerous when they hurl themselves out of the water. - Triggerfish is mostly friendly, but only until you are a threat to its nest. The most dangerous are females — if you approach its nest even accidentally, it will bite you. Thankfully, the bites aren’t poisonous, but triggerfish have extremely sharp teeth, so the injuries it can cause need serious medical attention. Here are the top 14 dangerous and some even poisonous creatures in the ocean it's terrifying to think they are under there waiting!! 7. Megalodon Megalodon is an extinct species of shark that lived millions of years ago. They were a lot like the great white sharks of today only much bigger. While great whites can reach a length of 20 feet, Megalodon’s could reportedly reach a ridiculous length of nearly 60 feet. Their teeth have been found across the globe from Australia to Japan and as far north as England and Denmark. 6. Killer Whales Being an apex predator means you have no natural predators. Essentially these are the animals at the top of the food chain. Killer, or Orca, whales are considered apex predators and have been known to kill great white sharks, leopard seals, and even other whales. Like wolves, they have a tendency to hunt in packs. Wild orcas don't pose any threat to humans, but there have been incidents in which captive orcas have killed or seriously injured their handlers at marine theme parks. These events highlight the fact that people should probably stop keeping killer whales in captivity rather than any indication that orcas are potentially dangerous to humans. 5. Stingrays Stingrays are usually very passive and gentle around human beings. But if they feel vulnerable in any way they have barbed stingers on their tails that inflict notoriously painful stings that can be deadly when hit in the chest or abdomen. Since stingrays spend a lot of time camouflaging on the seafloor humans often step on them accidentally and end up with a very sore foot to show for it. The world just recognized the ten year anniversary of popular wildlife expert Steve Irwin’s death, who was fatally stung by a stingray on September 4, 2006. 4. Leopard Seal Most seals are relatively harmless and pose no threat to human beings. Leopard seals, however, are not your average run of the mill seal. They are the only seals that eat warm-blooded prey, and the females are larger than the males, another oddity amongst seals. They eat penguins, smaller seals and squid using their powerful jaws, sharp teeth, and clever hunting tactics. In 2003 a British marine biologist was fatally attacked by a leopard seal while snorkeling off of the Antarctic Peninsula. It was the first time a fatal seal attack was recorded, and though seal attacks are rare scientists speculate that the more humans interact with these seals, the more attacks there will be in the future. 3. Box Jellyfish Amongst the world’s most poisonous creatures, this unassuming ocean dweller is responsible for many fatalities annually. Many countries don’t require death certificates, so the exact number isn’t known, but judging from the fact that 20 to 40 people die every year in the Philippines alone, it’s safe to assume that box jellyfish are one of the ocean’s deadliest creatures. Their tentacles are covered with cnidocyst, which contains a tiny dart loaded with a poison that can cause a rapid spike in blood pressure leading to a potentially fatal heart attack. These facts have led some to call the box jellyfish the world’s most venomous creature. 2. Sharks When talking about the ocean’s deadliest predators, sharks are usually the first creatures to come to people’s minds. Though their reputation does have some basis in reality, it is cultural references like the Jaws movie franchise and the Discovery Channel’s Shark Week that have ballooned the shark’s reputation to all new somewhat undeserving heights. There are around 500 species of sharks, but only three, the great white, tiger and bull sharks are responsible for double-digit fatalities. From 1948 to early 2016 there were 2,899 total unprovoked shark attacks recorded around the world, 548 of which were fatal. In comparison, you are more likely to be killed by a falling aircraft or riding a horse. 1. Saltwater Crocodile The saltwater crocodile has two things going for it that help to make them the ocean’s deadliest. These beasts are the largest reptiles on the planet, reaching weights of up to 2,600 pounds and have the most powerful bite on earth, ten times stronger than that of the great white shark. Of all crocodiles, this territorial species is the most likely to treat humans as prey. There are a few fatal saltwater crocodile attacks per year in Australia, with many more attacks from different areas of the world that are believed to go unreported.

While our oceans are teeming with beautiful and fascinating creatures, it’s also vastly populated with some pretty scary, pretty dangerous animals. These are animals you wouldn’t want to come by while swimming out on the open seas; that is, unless you’ve got a thing for danger. Stingray These cartilaginous fish are classified into eight distinct families and belong to the suborder Myliobatoidei. They are armed with barbed stingers on their tails that are typically used in self-defense, said stingers being around 13 inches in length. Underneath the stingers, there are two grooves with venom glands inside. They’re also covered by an integumentary sheath, keeping the venom concentrated and ready to be used when needed. They can be dangerous to humans, especially when we try to get too close, and we could find ourselves on the receiving end of a self-defense attack. Probably the most famous human fatality involving a stingray was Steve Irwin, who was snorkeling with stingrays while filming a show called Ocean’s Deadliest. Irwin approached a 6.5 foot (2 meters) ray to film it swimming away, and that’s when the animal got spooked and lashed out. A witness said it struck hundreds of times in a few seconds. Irwin initially believed it had only punctured his lung, but the stingray’s barb connected with his heart, taking his life. 3. Saltwater Crocodile These bad boys are the largest crocodilians in the world and, at times, reach up to 23 feet (7 meters) in length and can weigh as much as 2,200 to 2,600 pounds (1,000-1,200 kg). They’re amazing at camouflaging themselves and at hiding despite their enormous size, and it’s because of this that they’re so deadly. They’re able to blend, allowing their prey to move closer before they strike out and grab hold with their powerful jaws. There are an average of 30 attacks by saltwater crocodiles every year, and around half of those prove to be fatal. On February 5, 1945, it’s believed that saltwater crocodiles fatally attacked more than 400 Japanese soldiers during the Battle of Ramree Island. They have the most extensive distribution of any other crocodile, ranging from northern Australia to Southeast Asia to the eastern coast of India, so be careful and safe travels. 2. Tiger Sharks These sharks are responsible for a large portion of human-shark bite incidents, and they are known to be one of the most dangerous shark species out there. They often hang out in canals, harbors, and shallow reefs, which dramatically increases the chances of human interaction, often resulting in an attack. It’s second on the list of shark bites on humans, following only the scary great white. They are the apex predators in their various ecosystems, but they do fall prey to killer whales, and humans aren’t typically fond of sparing them either. Between 1959 and 2000, 4,668 tiger sharks were culled to protect coastal tourism activities considering they aren’t fond of people, let alone large numbers of them. 1...

Top 10 Most Dangerous Prehistoric Sea Creatures If you are going to write a comment make sure you've got your facts right first, nothing like making yourself look like an idiot on youtube! :D Basilosaurus - Was a species of whale that hunted other whales and dolphins, it was a very successful predator until its large prey started to run out and the climate changed. Dunkloestes - Was one of the worlds first super fish, it was built like an under water tank and had bone ridges instead of teeth. it went extinct in the first worldwide mass extinction millions of years ago. Elasmosaurus - It lived in the late Cretaceous period and was a 14m killer and it had more teeth in its mouth than most other sea reptiles at the time and went extinct at the same time as the dinosaurs. Helicoprion - Was a primitive shark that existed before the Dinosaurs, and it could roll its jaw so that it could snap up fish from a distance. Kronosaurus - It is one of the largest of the pliosaurs and is named after the greek titan Cronos. Liopleurodon - This is one of the most debated species of sea reptile as its correct length isnt known. it thrived as the apex predator of the Jurassic period. Livyatan Melvillei - Some say that it is like a cross between a Sperm whale and an Orca, they were equipped with large teeth and travelled in pods like other whales. this species was strong enough to actually kill the Megalodon as they could use sonar shock waves to stun the Megalodon and then rip it apart. Megalodon - Is the biggest species of shark known to man. it is debated that they could actually still be alive today, but this is not possible as the first 100ft of the ocean has been explored and the Megalodon could not live further down than this depth or the pressure would kill it. Mosasaur - It is thought that this is one of the closest relatives to snakes and other reptiles. when the extinction came to other large marine predators, this species took the role of apex predator until it became extinct. Sarcosuchus - Commonly known as 'SuperCroc' or the 'Dinosaur Killer' was one of the largest species of crocodiles ever to live. it was twice as long as the salt water crocodile and weight from 8-10 tones.

Northern Stargazer Astroscopus guttatus is a strange-looking fish that’s known more commonly as the Northern Stargazer. In paradoxical contrast to its romantic-sounding name, the Northern Stargazer is, for lack of a better term, unattractive, if not downright homely. It dwells at the bottom of the Chesapeake Bay and along the eastern seaboard of the United States, from North Carolina to New York, in waters up to 120 feet deep. So if you live around here, keep an eye out! 6. Giant Squid Until 2006, the existence of the giant squid was considered to be barely more realistic than that of the Yeti, the Loch Ness Monster, Sasquatch, and dozens of other creatures that were rumored to exist, but remained largely relegated to mythological status. The only thing that placed the giant squid a notch or two above the rest of those creatures were the scars left on whales and the discovery of their carcasses by fishermen after having floated to the water’s surface. 5. Black Dragonfish The black dragonfish is a deep-sea dweller that resides about 2,000 meters below the ocean’s surface. The amazing thing about this guy is that is represents one of the most extreme cases of sexual dimorphism, which refers to a distinct difference between the sexes in size or appearance that exceeds the fundamental difference between sexual organs. 4. Deep Sea Anglerfish Like the black dragonfish, male deep sea anglerfish are smaller than females. In this case, some male species of anglerfish are parasitic, and subsist by attaching themselves to the body of a female. While they may not have a gut, they do have teeth! 3. Goblin Shark The goblin shark is a rare species of deep-sea shark. It’s the only surviving relative of a 125-million-year-old lineage known as the family Mitsukurinidae. Because of this, the goblin shark has earned the nickname “living fossil.” The goblin shark’s distinctive appearance is creepy to begin with: it’s pink-skinned with an elongated, flattened snout that resembles a sword blade. 2. Blobfish Our next spooky sea creature is, quite possibly, the world’s ugliest animal. I don’t know, between this and the deep sea angler fish, which one do you think?? Let me know in the comments below!! It goes through life doing exactly what you’d probably expect a blob to do - not much. In the deep waters off the coasts of Australia, Tasmania, and New Zealand that it calls home, the blobfish survives essentially by drifting around on the ocean floor at great depths and eating whatever appears in front of it, namely deepwater crustaceans. 1. Frilled Shark At first glance, the frilled shark looks like something you might see in a science fiction movie - perhaps, for example, an unlikely hybrid between an eel and a shark. The frilled shark however, is real. Like the goblin shark, it’s often referred to as a “living fossil,” a nickname that alludes to the minimal change the species has undergone since prehistoric times. Check out these 10 sea monsters attacking a boat! This top 10 list of ocean creatures like whales and great white sharks attacking a ship shows some bizarre stories caught on camera! Subscribe For New Videos! http://goo.gl/UIzLeB Watch our "MYSTERIOUS Creatures Living At The BOTTOM Of The World!" video here: https://youtu.be/Efhjc-Gu508 Watch our "SECRETS Casinos DON'T Want You To Find Out!" video here: https://youtu.be/hAoABuvzOZM Watch our "RAREST And Most EXPENSIVE Cars In The World!" video here: https://youtu.be/MtCnWSqqilg 10. Great White Shark If you’ve been on a boat out on the ocean, a Jaws attack has probably crossed your mind. Even if it’s just barely!! Then of course you rationalize that the chances of that happening are practically 0. Practically. That’s what Terry Selwood, a 73-year-old Australian fisherman learned in 2017, when a great white shark leapt out of the water, into his boat!! 9. An Eagle Ray Rays seem like beautiful, serene creatures - but they can be extremely dangerous, even if you’re on the relative safety of a large tourist boat. In 2011, Jenny Hausch had rented a 26-foot catamaran for her family to take a trip in Florida. Sounds really nice right? 8. Swordfish In 2017, Alan Pope, a British tourist, was on a boat trip getting ready to go snorkeling in Indonesia when everything went horribly wrong. Without any warning, a swordfish jumped out of the water and into the boat, and impaled his neck with its bill. The end snapped off, and left six inches of the sword still jabbed inside his neck, just millimeters from instantly killing him. 7. Sperm Whales The Gulf of Alaska is a prime fishing location, especially for those trying to catch black cod. In these waters, though, there is a much larger creature that also likes eating the fish- sperm whales. They are the ocean’s largest toothed predators, and while they are quite capable of catching food for themselves, they much prefer taking the easy route. 6. Giant Squid Mostly creatures of legend, giant squids are mentioned in many old mariners tales of dangers at sea. But they are rarely seen, let alone involved in attacking boats. So when a team of French sailors came face to face with one in 2003, they almost didn’t believe it!! 5. Bull Shark You might think that a great white shark would be the most problematic shark species to boats, but there’s another type that can be more aggressive, and more likely to risk an encounter. 4. Jellyfish Sometimes it’s the smallest things that can have the biggest effect, something that became ever so apparent in 2017 when Chinese scientists were investigating why their aircraft carriers were experiencing difficulties. They found that large swarms of Jellyfish were getting caught up in the propulsion systems! This would stop the ships dead in their tracks, or cause the engines to overheat and cause extreme damage. 3. Mako Shark This next story took place just last year, 2017 in Long Island, New York. A fishing charter boat was taking guests to the location where they find the widest variety of fish, when suddenly a Mako shark jumped onto the side of the boat. Unfortunately for the fish, it managed to get itself stuck in the handrail of the boat and, despite thrashing about, it couldn’t free itself. 2. Black Marlin Game fishing is a popular pastime for many enthusiasts, but when you’re chasing after some of the largest and most powerful marine creatures on earth, you have to be ready for the unpredictable. Again last year, things went very wrong indeed for a fishing boat off the coast of Panama. They had caught a black marlin, a species that can weight up to 1500 pounds and reach speeds of up to 50 miles per hour. 1. Killer Whale If you’ve ever watched a nature documentary that’s featured Killer Whales, you’ll be all too familiar how organised and clever they can be. Pods work together to catch prey, and even tilt ice flows to trap seals. When they turn these skills towards human activity, the results can be frightening. Documentaries - World's Top Most Dangerous Sea Creatures - Documentary 2017 Covering 70% of the world’s surface the sea is home to some of the most unusual, mysterious and deadly animals on the planet. As humans are not native to the oceans this makes us easy pickings for many of these creatures, although thankfully we are largely off the menu.. As someone who has spent plenty of time bobbing around on the surface of the sea my mind has often drifted to what lurks below. Fortunately the statistics provide some comfort and it is apparently quite rare to be eaten alive whilst frolicking in the ocean. However, I expect that’s what all those people who did get eaten were thinking, and lets face it, it’s a pretty unpleasant way to go. ,Full Documentary ,Full Documentaries ,Documentary 2016 ,Documentaries 2016 ,Discovery Channel Documentaries ,Discovery Channel Documentary ,Documentary 2017 ,Documentaries

18 Of The Biggest Creatures That Lurk Beneath The Ocean's Surface Earth's oceans contain 99% of the living space on the planet, yet less than 10% of that space has been explored by humans. If these are the colossal sea creatures we know about, imagine what is yet to be discovered! Blue Whale At 98 ft. (30 metres) and 200 tons (180 metric tons) in weight, the Blue Whale is the largest known animal to have ever existed. During the summer feeding season a Blue Whale may eat up to 40 million krill a day. (Left: Blue whale from above; Right: Blue whale skull.) Giant Squid These mysterious deep sea dwellers are the largest invertebrates on Earth. The biggest ever one found measured 59 feet (18 meters) in length and weighed nearly a ton (900 kilograms). Giant Isopod A type of crustacean distantly related to the shrimp and crabs, the Giant Isopod has a maximum weight and length of approximately 3.7 lbs. (1.7 kilograms) and 30 inches (76 centimeters) respectively. Fin Whale Also called the finback whale, razorback, or common rorqual, this marine mammal is the second largest animal after the blue whale, growing to 89.5 ft. (27.3 meters) long and weighing nearly 82 short tons (74 tonnes). Giant Pacific Octopus This cephalopod grows bigger and lives longer than any other octopus species. The size record is held by a specimen that was 30 feet (9.1 meters) across and weighed more than 600 pounds (272 kilograms). Giant Oceanic Manta Ray Oceanic mantas are the largest type of ray in the world. They can grow to a width of 30 ft. (9 meters) and can live for 20 years. The ocean isn’t just full of happy sea creatures that sing songs and tiny clownfish on the search for their lost family members - it’s a dark place full of creepy and wild creatures. This is our list of some of the most dangerous sea creatures lurking around in our oceans. Learn about the BIGGEST of everything Monday, Wednesday, and Friday just subscribe! 12 Saltwater Crocodile Crocodiles are one of those animals that are extra scary since they are not limited to coming after you in the water as they’re quite capable of climbing onto land as well. The saltwater crocodile is known to be one of the most dangerous of the crocodiles and one look that that toothy mouth that’s actually closed...it’s easy to see why. They are said to be the most dangerous animal in Australia, which is saying something. Saltwater crocodiles are highly aggressive and can grow up to 17 feet long and up to 1,000 pounds--though there have been that were recorded to be double that size. These territorial animals will go after anything and anyone that wanders near their homes. 11 Bullet Shrimp “How could something so little be so dangerous?” you might be asking. Well, the bullet shrimp didn’t get it’s name for being the size of a bullet. Evolution has helped them engineer their claws to be super functional war machines. They can snap down with so much force that they create a kinetic energy that momentarily gets to the same temperature as the surface of the freakin’ sun! This is probably why you would never see the bullet shrimp in captivity - they could easily destroy the glass of any tank they were contained in with just the snap of their fingers. 10 Textile Cone Snail The conus textile, or the textile cone snail, doesn’t look like it would pose much danger to swimmers, right? And yet they’re extremely venomous. Though their shells are popular for seashell collectors, obtaining them might prove to be a bit difficult and a little dangerous if you go after one that’s still being inhabited. Can you believe the snails that live in these have what are essentially harpoons that come with fatal neurotoxins? The harpoons are able to penetrate human skin and a single drop of this snail’s venom can apparently kill 20 grown men. At that point, is the shell really worth it? 9 Flower Urchin Here’s another creature found in the sea that is deceptively pretty. And don’t be fooled by the name or the way it looks. The flower-like organism is in fact considered part of the kingdom animalia. You might have guessed it just by the way it looks, but flower urchins are highly dangerous sea creatures. If touched, it can produce terrible a sting that needs to be medically treated. As far as their diet is concerned, flower urchins only feed on organisms like bryozoans and algae, so you’re safe on that front. Really, the biggest danger is you’ll be scuba diving or swimming along a coral reef and accidentally touch one. They inhabit environments like seagrass beds, rocky areas underwater, and coral reefs. They look so much like flowers, it’s surprising they’re not plants, and even more so that they’re not to be messed with.

There is one special place that simultaneously terrifies and has unexplainable pull: 300 ships gone missing, 75 aircrafts never found; you're right, that's all about the Bermuda Triangle. Few people are aware of what the life is like at the bottom of the Bermuda Triangle – are you ready to meet the most shocking and scary creatures ever? Dragonfish live at the staggering depth of 5 to 7 thousand feet. This fish looks quite terrifying, with its black coloring and the light it produces on its own. Unlike other deep-water inhabitants, dragonfish produces light in the infrared range while the blue and green range is what other fish stick to. Vampire Squid has the largest eyes in terms of proportions in the world and is born to live in the depth. These animals are also covered with photophores which distract predators and lure prey. The mouth of the gulper eel is loosely hinged which makes it extremely wide and big. In fact, the length of the jaw of the eel reaches one-fourth of the length of their body. Despite being the owner of an enormous mouth, the gulper eel has tiny teeth, and this means that it isn't supposed to prey on large animals. The Goblin Shark reaches 13 ft in size and is also called the Vampire Shark due to the fact that it avoids light at all cost. Due to this feature, you can see the shark in its natural habitat only if you go as deep as 890 to 4300 ft. Pharynx, a complex feeding apparatus that helps Eunice Aphroditois catch the prey, can turn inside out, not unlike glove fingers. It has strong and extremely sharp mandibles which can easily cut the prey in half due to the strength and speed of the worm's attack. These are just some of the creatures that lurk in the depth of the Bermuda Triangle. Who knows what other unbelievable horror-movie beasts we can meet there? Nobody knows for sure what makes crafts disappear in this area. -Dragonfish looks quite terrifying, with its black coloring and the light it produces on its own in case of danger. -The Vampire Squid has is bright red eyes and crimson cloak that looks like webbing. In case of a threat, these creatures can invert their skin exposing their spines. -The pouch-like structure of the lower jaw allows the eel to deposit its prey there. Even the stomach of the eel can stretch so much that the creature can hold there a huge amount of food. -The Goblin Shark reaches 13 ft in size and is also called the Vampire Shark due to the fact that it avoids light at all cost. As soon as the prey appears in the vicinity, the jaw of the shark will elongate and grab it. -The worm buries itself in the seafloor with just a fraction of its body exposed. It has five antennae it uses to sense the prey. It has prominent ear-like fins making it look like a baby elephant’s head. The Dumbo octopus lives at depths of over 13,000 feet below sea level. They grow to almost 6ft in length and weigh up to 13 pounds. 11 Ocean Sunfish The ocean sunfish is the heaviest bony fish in the world, weighing between 545 and 2,205 pounds. Living on a diet of sea jellies and small fish, which it has to consume in very large quantities because of their poor nutritional value. 10 Humpback Anglerfish The humpback anglerfish, also known as the humpback black devil, lives at depths ranging from 800 to 13,000 feet below the ocean’s surface. They have black soft bodies and large heads, widened mouths and long pointed teeth. Females are capable of eating prey even larger than themselves. 9 Amphipoda Amphipoda is an order of crustaceans that range in size from 0.03 inches to 13.4 inches. Their bodies are laterally compressed and have no carapace. The most interesting thing about amphipods is their feeding behavior. There are more than 9.900 species, and some are flesh-eating scavengers. Amphipods have two front pairs of legs with large claws. 8 Sarcastic Fringehead The sarcastic fringehead is a small fish with a large Predator-like mouth and aggressive territorial behavior. It can only grow up to 12 inches long and lives in the Pacific, off the coast of North America, from San Francisco, California to central Baja California. 7 Pelican eel The Pelican eel, also known as the gulper eel, has a very large mouth which it can open wide enough to swallow bigger fish. Gulper eels live at extreme depths from 1,600 to almost 10,000 ft. 6 Pacific Viperfish The Pacific viperfish lives in the abyssal depths of the deep sea and is easily recognized by its large open mouth. It’s a predatory fish that can reach lengths of 1 foot and it has an iridescent dark silver body. Pacific viperfish cannot close their mouths due to their very large fang-like teeth which they use to trap their prey with. They also have a light or gone located at the end of their dorsal fin rays. 5 Abyssal ghostsharks Pointy-nosed blue chimaeras or more commonly known as abyssal ghostsharks are sea creatures that live in temperate ocean floors down to 6,500 feet deep. They are believed to be some of the oldest fish in existence, as they branched off from sharks nearly 400 million years ago. 4 Stargazer Fish Stargazers are a family of fish that camouflage themselves in the sand on the ocean floor and attack when a fish swims by. Their eyes are mounted on the top of their heads and they have upward facing mouths. Stargazers have two large venomous spines located above their pectoral fins and some species can also cause electric shock. Their way of attacking other fish combined with their ability to cause electric shock and the fact that they also have venomous spines, have caused some to refer to stargazers as “the meanest things in creation”. 3 Immortal Jellyfish The immortal jellyfish is a species of biologically undying jellyfish. It’s found in the Mediterranean Sea and the waters of Japan and has no maximum lifespan. It begins life as a larva and settles down to the sea floor, where it gives rise to a colony of polyps. Each polyp and jellyfish arising from a single larva is a genetically identical clone. The polyps morph into an extensively branched form. Jellyfish then bud off the polyps and continue their life in a free-swimming form. 2 Water Bears Water bears are micro-animals that resemble bears and are believed to be the toughest and most resilient animals on the planet. They can survive incredibly harsh conditions such as exposure to extreme temperatures or pressures, radiation, air deprivation, dehydration and even starvation. They can go without food or water for more than 30 years. Their barrel-shaped bodies usually only grow up to 0.02 inches long and have four pairs of legs, each with four to eight claws. 1 Sea Spiders The sea spider is not really an arachnid, but a marine arthropod. It got the name from its eerie resemblance to a spider. It has eight long legs and a small body. Most species of sea spiders are so small that each of their muscles consists of only one cell. They’re most common in shallow waters where they’re usually found walking along the bottom.

Most people can’t imagine their vacation without some body of water nearby, be it a lake or an ocean. However, there are waters on our planet that can be deadly for revelers. If you aren’t satisfied with these, watch till the end for a savory bonus. TIMESTAMPS Great Blue Hole, Belize 0:52 Jacob’s Well, Texas, USA 1:26 Lake Michigan, USA 1:55 Lake Natron, Tanzania 2:29 Blue Hole, Dahab 3:04 Horseshoe Lake, USA 3:39 Boiling Lake, Dominica 4:05 Rio Tinto, Portugal/Spain 4:32 Drake Passage 5:10 Lake Kivu 5:46 Water creatures 6:11 SUMMARY - Tides turn the Great Blue Hole into a huge vortex that draws in everything on the surface, while ebbs make it spout huge columns of water. Despite all this, though, there still are many who want to see this hole because Jacques Cousteau himself called it one of the best places for diving on Earth. - This 30-foot deep natural well with crystal clear water is one of the most dangerous diving places in the world. At the bottom of Jacob’s Well, there are several entrances to a broad network of caves that many are unable to leave. - Lake Michigan is almost as notorious as the Bermuda Triangle because it’s over this lake that one of the most horrible air crashes in North America occurred for no logical reasons. - Lake Natron is one of the saltiest and most alkaline lakes on Earth, covered with a salt crust that’s sometimes colored red. The water temperature reaches 120°F (50°C) in certain places, which makes it, along with alkalinity, almost unfit for life. Only three kinds of fish live here, adapting to the extreme conditions. - The Blue Hole is possibly the most dangerous place for diving in the world as many divers have died in this 400-foot deep cave. Experienced divers say, though, that properly trained people with experience can dive without fear: the cause of death is usually nitrogen narcosis or insufficient air capacity upon ascent. - The carbon dioxide emitted from the fissures in the bottom of Horseshoe Lake is deadly for everything. The lake was the cause of death of four people, as well as trees growing 100 acres around it. The danger is announced by signs all around. - This mountain lake located eight hours from the ground may heat up to 198°F (92°C) due to hot air spurts from beneath the ground — they often neighbor with lava. Swimming in the lake is strictly prohibited even if there are no characteristic bubbles on its surface because boiling starts in a matter of seconds. - Fossil excavation that has been carried out at the head of the Tinto River for more than 3,000 years lead to it being saturated with copper, iron, and heavy metals, with the acidity leaping sky-high. - Lots of icebergs, wind speeds reaching 80 miles per hour, strong currents, and poor visibility are part of the ordeal that ships going through the Drake Passage must survive. - This seemingly peaceful lake keeps a deadly secret: there are layers of CO2 in it and 55 billion cubic meters of methane at the bottom. Even the slightest earthquake may cause a huge explosion capable of evaporating over 2 million people living around Kivu. BONUS: If you ever decide to swim in a river, lake, or just about any other body of water, make sure to check if it is safe to bathe there. Even places that attract tourists may well be infested with lampreys, hagfish, leeches, or other unpleasant fauna. Sea creatures that you don't want to encounter! When swimming in the world's biggest oceans, you should make sure to stay away from these sea creatures! Support our Patreon today: https://www.patreon.com/theywillkillyou Subscribe for new videos: http://goo.gl/SaufF4 Follow us on Instagram: @theywillkillyou Voiceover by Carl Mason: [email protected] Number 8 Stonefish They seamlessly blend with their environment, which mainly consists of rocks or coral formations. These creatures can also live out of water for about 24 hours which is why stings may occur on beaches as well. Number 7 Whale 18th century Basque whalers gave them this name after observing pods of orcas hunting baleen whales. In 70, AD, Pliny the Elder called them ‘an enormous mass of savage flesh with teeth’. It’s why they’re a sought-after addition to water parks around the world. Despite their ferocious reputation, wild orcas aren’t considered a threat to humans, which is why they don’t rank higher on our list. In the wild, orcas are the only creatures known to successfully take on great white sharks. The size, speed and strength of an individual orca combined with the coordinated manner in which a pod hunts, makes this animal the true apex predator of the world’s oceans. Number 6 Dubois’ Sea Snake However, for many people, the last place they’d expect to worry about these creatures is in the ocean. Aipysurus duboisii, also known as Dubois’ sea snake brazenly defies these expectations. Found in various coastal areas off Australia, New Caledonia and Papua New Guinea. It is adapted to living in coral reefs, at depths of up to 262 feet. It can measure almost 5ft in length and its fangs are about 2 mm long. The bite isn’t considered strong enough to pierce through a wet suit. Number 5 Flower Urchin In 2014, this echinoderm was described by the Guinness Book of Records as the most dangerous sea urchin in existence. Number 4 Cone Snail Don’t be fooled by their shells, which feature fascinating, vividly-colored patterns. Often compared to a harpoon or a dart, this barbed tooth can extend some distance from the snail’s head. Number 3 Blue-Ringed Octopus Found in the coral reefs of the Indian and Pacific oceans. When it feels threatened, the octopus’ yellow skin and eponymous blue rings become more vivid and almost appear to shimmer. Their tiny bites are often painless and most people don’t realize they’ve been bitten. Number 2 Box Jellyfish The box jellyfish gets its name from its cube-shaped body and there is one species called chironex fleckeri, also known as the sea wasp. Its tentacles can measure up to 10 feet in length. Number 1 Great White Shark Sharks are among the most feared creatures in the sea and one species rises above all other when it comes to ferocity. Popularized by Steven Spielberg’s ‘Jaws’, the great white shark has incredible predatory adaptations which earn it the number one spot on our list. An apex predator, the great white can reach a length of up to 20 feet and a weight of over 4,000 pounds. It can swim at over 35 miles per hour and at crushing depths of nearly 4,000 feet. It has rows of serrated teeth behind the main teeth, ready to replace any that break off. This creature also has an incredible sense of smell that is hundreds of times more developed than that of human beings. The great white also has special organs called Ampullae of Lorenzini which enable it to detect the electromagnetic field emitted by the movement of living animals with incredible precision. It can sense variations of half a billionth of a volt. This basically means that, at close range, the great white can detect the heartbeat of its prey, even if it isn’t moving.
