In this video I take a boat trip from Battery Park in Manhattan across to Liberty Island to see the world famous State Of Liberty. This incredible monument was constructed in France and was presented as a gift to the United States Of America in 1886. Statue Cruises are the official tour operator that provide boat trips to both Liberty and Ellis Island from 2 different pick up locations. Along with taking in the fantastic views of New York City, I share the complete experience of travelling across to the island including a full tour of the various different shops and facilities. I also head up to the Crown of the Statue Of Liberty for a unique look inside this incredible structure! Skip to 3:15 for entering the crown. This is my wife Beth taking our GoPro Hero 3 (Silver) up to the top of the Statue of Liberty Crown. We were only able to get one ticket to go up even though we ordered 4 months in advance so she went because my laziness far outweighs my patriotism. She thought I would be able to see and hear her using the GoPro iPhone app but it cut off almost immediately after going up the first flight of stairs... That's why she's talking most of the way up. This video was taken Monday, August 26th, 2013.

A 2-minute HD tour of Statue of Liberty National Monument and Ellis Island. This is one of the more inspirational destinations in America - riding by ferry boat to both Liberty Island and Ellis Island adds to the experience in a way I wouldn't have imagined. The cruise through the heart of New York Harbor to the monument is a must for every American and a symbol of freedom recognized throughout the world. The Statue Cruises can be boarded at Battery Park in New York City's Manhattan waterfront or from Liberty City, New Jersey. For more information about a visit to the monument, visit statueofliberty.com. For Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island tickets visit statuecruises.com. Evelyn Hill, Inc. and Statue Cruises are authorized concessioners of the National Park Service.

Take a walk with me up into the Crown of Lady Liberty. There are 354 steps up to the crown and while the stairs are very tight and narrow it was an amazing experience. Tickets need to be booked in advance. Filmed with a go pro hero 3 black with head strap.

Visiting New York? Here's is the tour you don't want to miss. Visit the Statue of Liberty on Liberty Island, and the National Museum of Immigration on Ellis Island. Please LIKE, SHARE with friends, and SUBSCRIBE if you enjoyed. Thank you! Tip: Pedestal and crown tickets are very limited. Unless you purchase a pedestal or crown platform ticket well in advance, you won't be able to access any of these levels. I made it all the way to the crown in a previous visit to the statue, but could not find any tickets this time around. Check https://www.statuecruises.com/ for cruises schedule and reserve tickets. Check https://www.nps.gov/stli/index.htm for additional information the Statue of Liberty National Monument (U.S. National Park Service). You can start your trip in New York and finish it in New Jersey, and vice versa, if you wish. Or just return to your starting point, your choice. Once you disembark in Liberty Island and Ellis Island, you may stay there for as long as you want. Whenever you are done with your visit, board the next available ferry boat. Many people have memories of the Statue of Liberty being located on Ellis Island. Many also don't remember ever learning about the Black Tom German terrorist attack in 1916 that damaged parts of the Statue of Liberty. The Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island are both on the New Jersey State side border. And many remember the torch of the Statue of Liberty being open several years ago and not being closed for 100 years. This is my visit to both locations to ask some questions. The battery on my camera had died and wasn't able to continue filming unfortunately. The other reason stated by the gentleman at 6:40 is "wind". The gentleman stated he was told the torch was closed because of wind and the stability of the structure What do you remember?

The Statue of Liberty is a figure of a robed woman representing Libertas, a Roman liberty goddess. She holds a torch above her head with her right hand, and in her left hand carries a tabula ansata inscribed in Roman numerals with "JULY IV MDCCLXXVI" (July 4, 1776), the date of the U.S. Declaration of Independence. A broken chain lies at her feet. The statue became an icon of freedom and of the United States, and was a welcoming sight to immigrants arriving from abroad. Bartholdi was inspired by a French law professor and politician, Édouard René de Laboulaye, who is said to have commented in 1865 that any monument raised to U.S. independence would properly be a joint project of the French and U.S. peoples. Because of the post-war instability in France, work on the statue did not commence until the early 1870s. In 1875, Laboulaye proposed that the French finance the statue and the U.S. provide the site and build the pedestal. Bartholdi completed the head and the torch-bearing arm before the statue was fully designed, and these pieces were exhibited for publicity at international expositions.

Hey there! We are Greg and Hillary – a husband and wife team that loves traveling, going on adventures, and helping others do the same! Although we love traveling, at this point in time, we still have full time 9-5 jobs in Dallas, Texas. In August of 2016, we packed up our things, Greg quit his job, and we moved to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico! Hillary is working remotely for her CPA firm and Greg is working on this site full time. We view ourselves as fairly ordinary people, complete with an ordinary income, ordinary jobs, and (unfortunately) an ordinary amount of student loan debt (thanks UNT!). I know what you are thinking, “Aren’t travel blogs supposed to be written by hippies that don’t have jobs and live in hostels?!” Well don’t you worry, we are working on making that happen! Although we hope to become full time travelers in the next 1-2 years, this site is not necessarily aimed at people that want to travel full time. Our hope is not that you quit your job and become a long haired, bearded, Volkswagen van driving hippy. Instead, our hope is that after reading our stories you are more inspired to live a more fulfilling life from 5pm-9am! Why such the emphasis on how ordinary we are? Although we love reading travel blogs, it is easy to feel disconnected from the writers at times. It seems as though they are leading such extraordinary lives that they are somehow doing something that is unreachable to the “average” person. We are here to prove that wrong. We are here to tell you that even if you work a full-time job and only get two weeks of vacation each year-you still have the power to design an adventurous life for yourself. Afterall, that is exactly where we started before leaving it all behind to live la vida loca! After having several caffeine induced conversations about how people should travel more and shift their priorities in a way that will lead to a more fulfilling life, we decided to share our stories with you. Our purpose in creating Kinetic Kennons is to share our stories of travels, adventures, and funny mishaps and to inspire others to design a life full of exploration. Throughout this site you will find posts about how to go on a cheap weekend trip, funny stories such as the time Hillary forgot to update her passport before an international trip, and inspirational rants on why you should lead a more adventurous life!

The Statue of Liberty (Liberty Enlightening the World; French: La Liberté éclairant le monde) is a colossal neoclassical sculpture on Liberty Island in New York Harbor in New York City, in the United States. The copper statue, designed by Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi, a French sculptor, was built by Gustave Eiffel and dedicated on October 28, 1886. It was a gift to the United States from the people of France. The statue is of a robed female figure representing Libertas, the Roman goddess, who bears a torch and a tabula ansata (a tablet evoking the law) upon which is inscribed the date of the American Declaration of Independence, July 4, 1776. A broken chain lies at her feet. The statue is an icon of freedom and of the United States, and was a welcoming sight to immigrants arriving from abroad.

Modern time wonder Statue of Liberty in the Usa. Situated in New York Harbour, the Statue of Liberty has become the proud symbol of the United States of America. The statue of the Goddess of Freedom carries the light of the spirit of enlightenment to the Free World.Alexander Gustave Eiffel, whose tower later made him famous, built the statue’s ingenious iron frame construction supported by a central shaft. Around this framework a 2.4 millimetre thick copper coating was attached to the statue and it is mainly due to Eiffel’s frame that the monument has withstood the bay’s savage winter storms. On the 28th October 1886, North America’s most important statue was inaugurated by President Grover Cleveland. The statue was the design of a young sculptor, Bartholdi, who had eagerly accepted the work due to the fact that the commission of his design of a large female statue for a lighthouse on the Suez Canal had not reached fruition. At first, the statue received little love and affection. Indeed, New Yorkers used the statue’s unveiling ceremony for a protest demonstration! Since then, however, it has most assuredly conquered the hearts of those who have seen it and it has become a symbol of freedom for the whole of America. -------------- Watch more travel videos ► https://goo.gl/MXPgSs Join us. In this travel vlog I'll answer some of the questions you might have about the Statue Of Liberty Crown Tour. Make sure you follow my Instagram Facebook and Twitter pages for updated https://www.instagram.com/toned.in.entertainment/ https://www.facebook.com/groups/tonedinent/ https://twitter.com/TonedInEnt How much is it What can you expect How many stairs How early you should book in advance Is it worth it Statue of Liberty By far one of the most iconic landmarks in America is the Statue of Liberty. Now there are several ways to view lady liberty. You can take the Staten Island ferry across if you just want the view. You can can get tickets for going onto liberty island and get access up to the pedestal. Or if you for book early enough and are up for the challenge you can purchase tickets to the crown. Just a word of advice the day we went they were all sold out. But we had purchased our tickets 2 months in advance. As of this recording in 2018 a price for regular admission to the grounds is $25.50. The Crown ticket is $28.50. So for only $3 more it’s not a big difference in price. Now for what you can expect. Stairs stairs and more stairs. 354 steps. And the quarters are tight as you walk up the spiraling stairs. There’s no elevator or other way to get to the crown and is only recommended for people in good physical health and I would say also not afraid of tight quarters. Because once you start making that climb there’s no where for you to go but up. Once you get to the top you will have the highest vantage point possible. You can get a really nice view of Manhattan from up there. Now once your in the crown there is no time limit but you’ll probably spend 3-5 minutes up there. It’s a small area and when we were there in the month is September it was very hot in there. So after Taking a few pictures out of the crown and taking a few inside you’ll make your way down the other set of spiraling stairs. Now is it worth it. Yes! It definitely is an unique experience and so worth doing if you think you can handle the stairs and the tight area. #StatueOfLiberty #CrownTour #TonedInEnt Music license epidemicsound.com Parallel Universe - Lonov Celestial Bodies (instrumental Version) - Simon Gribbe

A Trip to the abandoned Ellis Island Immigrant Hospital. The Ellis Island Immigrant Hospital is the United States’ first public health hospital, opened in 1902 and operating as a hospital until 1930. The hospital served as a detention facility for new immigrants who were deemed unfit to enter the United States after their arrival; immigrants would either be released from the hospital to go on to a new life in America or sent back to their home countries. The hospital was one of the largest public health hospitals in United States history and is still viewed today as an extraordinary endeavor in the public health field. While the monument is managed by the National Park Service as part of the National Parks of New York Harbor office, the south side of Ellis Island has been off-limits to the general public since its closing. Efforts to restore the hospital buildings and others on the island are being made by government partner Save Ellis Island. In October 2014, the hospital opened to the public in small groups tours. I say it is worth every penny of the $45.00 or so it costs to do the tour.
