This formula can generate a random letter from a to z, if you need to create four random letters, you need to use & character to add the letters. Such as =CHAR(RANDBETWEEN(65,90))& CHAR(RANDBETWEEN(65,90)) & CHAR(RANDBETWEEN(65,90)) & CHAR(RANDBETWEEN(65,90)). Samuel Rulli - Unique molecular indices (UMI) and their application in detecting novel gene ...

Watch on LabRoots at http://www.labroots.com/webcast/unique-molecular-indices-umi-and-their-application-in-detecting-novel-gene-fusions-and-gene-expression-and-genetic-variation Tumor heterogeneity has been known for a while but quantifying heterogeneity is still a challenge. NGS is the method of choice in the analysis of tumor heterogeneity, however, there are some inherent challenges associated with it. These include false positives, gaps in the gene due to overrepresentation and incomplete representation of low-frequency transcripts – all contributing to an inaccurate picture. Conventional library prep strategies for NGS are based on PCR, which introduces sequence-based bias and amplification noise, leading to these inaccuracies. In this webinar, we will cover Principles of UMI and the new QIAseq product porfolio How UMI along with SPE (single primer extension) allows for increased uniformity across difficult-to-sequence regions, removal of library construction bias, improved data analysis and sequencing optimization How data generated from using UMI and SPE is directly comparable to analysis derived from whole transcriptome and exome sequencing Application of UMI and SPE in the discovery of novel gene fusions and in the analysis of gene expression and genetic variation

Understanding the Global Trade Item Number (GTIN)

08:17
GTIN, the numbering sequence within barcodes and commonly called Universal Product Codes (U.P.C.), are the foundation of the GS1 System of Standards and have identified products at point-of-sale for 40 years. Many people call GS1 US to ask questions about identifying their products and how to get started. This video is the first of five and will focus on helping you understand this GS1 identifier. http://ow.ly/voSi30jUPMo

How to Get a Barcode

00:50
How do I get barcodes with GS1 US? The good news is, there are 3 simple steps. First, get a Company Prefix. A Company Prefix acts like an umbrella where you can wrap many products under a single brand. Step two, generate unique identifiers for your products, also called GTINs. Third step is to generate UPC barcodes. Using our easy online tool you can generate those and put them directly on your package yourself or you can send them out to a Solution Partner for high quality printing directly on packaging. Products | Sell on Amazon | UPC, EAN, SKU Codes | Online | Earn Money | Tutorial

20:45
Products | Sell on Amazon | UPC, EAN, SKU Codes | Online | Earn Money | Tutorial Selling Products on Amazon UPC, EAN, SKU Codes GTIN, GS1, and UPC - Global Trade Item Number (GTIN) – is an identifier for trade items, developed by GS1. Such identifiers are used to look up product information in a database (often by entering the number through a barcode scanner pointed at an actual product) which may belong to a retailer, manufacturer, collector, researcher, or other entity. The GTIN standard has incorporated the International Standard Book Number (ISBN), International Standard Serial Number (ISSN), International Standard Music Number (ISMN), International Article Number (which includes the European Article Number and Japanese Article Number) and some Universal Product Codes (UPCs), into a universal number space. - GS1 is a not-for-profit organization that develops and maintains global standards for business communication. The best known of these standards is the barcode, a symbol printed on products that can be scanned electronically. GS1 barcodes are scanned more than six billion times every day. - Universal Product Code (UPC) - is a barcode symbology that is widely used in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, in Europe and other countries for tracking trade items in stores.  Consists of 12 numeric digits, that are uniquely assigned to each trade item. UPC-A is the most common UPC utilized. EAN, SKU, ASIN, and FNSKU - European/International Article Number (EAN) - is a standard describing a  barcode symbology  and numbering system used in global trade to identify a specific retail product type, in a specific packaging configuration, from a specific manufacturer. The most commonly used EAN standard is the thirteen-digit EAN-13, a superset of the original 12-digit UPC-A standard. A prefix with a first digit of "0" indicates a 12-digit UPC-A code follows. - Stock Keeping Unit (SKU) - a SKU is a number assigned to a product by the company for stock-keeping purposes and internal operations.  Since a SKU is unique to the company, the same product would have different SKUs if sold by different companies, but they would have the same UPC - Amazon Standard Identification Number (ASIN) is a 10-character alphanumeric unique identifier assigned by Amazon.com and its partners for product identification within the Amazon organization - Fulfillment Network SKU (FNSKU) - The FNSKU is the way that Amazon identifies a product as unique to the seller that has sent it to the Amazon fulfillment center. WHY do I need to know this? All item on Amazon must have a UPC. - This is to mitigate the chances of fraud/counterfeiting - Minimize duplicate listings - Ensures that product reviews are based on the actual product and not a counterfeit product - Allows for some comingling of products (save warehousing space) If you are selling a product that does not have a UPC, you have two choices 1. Purchase a UPC for that product through GS1 https://www.gs1.org/ 2. Request a GTIN exemption https://sellercentral.amazon.com/gtinx Why would I want to purchase a UPC? If you want to create your own brand then you will have to have unique UPCs for any products you wish to sell under that brand. (i.e. Private Labelling) Amazon has a brand list, so if you do decide to go the private label route then make sure you get your brand in there so you can control who sells similar products under that UPC. Why would I want to request a GTIN Exemption? Criteria for requesting a GTIN Exemption (meets one of the below criteria) Brand, manufacturer or publisher does not provide a GTIN for the products. For example, private label products or hand-made products. Non-branded products that do not have GTINs. For example, wholesale products. Parts do not have a GTIN. For example, some automotive parts do not have a GTIN. Bundles do not have a GTIN. For example, customized bundles may not have a GTIN. https://sellercentral.amazon.com/gp/help/200426310 If you want to learn more about online marketing then check out my private facebook group, Rain's Marketing Circle https://www.facebook.com/groups/rainsmarketingcircle/

DNA Barcoding

03:36
DNA barcoding uses a very short segment of DNA to identify organisms at the genetic level. Because no two species have the same DNA, this segment acts like the black stripes of the Universal Product Code (UPC) to create a unique identification sequence. Once the DNA barcodes are created, researchers then record them in databases to produce an accurate catalogue of life on earth. Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada is taking the lead on creating and adding thousands of DNA barcodes to national and international databases. The benefits to the Canadian agricultural sector are many. Learn how this work helps to protect our crops and agricultural exports. Thinglink - A Free Product Code for Creative Work

34:17
Google TechTalks April 27, 2006 Ulla-Maaria Mutanen ABSTRACT Thinglink.org is an open database where makers can register free unique identifiers for their work and create labels for their products. The beta was launched at Maker Faire on Saturday. Artists, crafters, designers, and small producers need online recommendation systems to compete on the global market because recommendation systems place the products of the small producers on equal footing with those of the large corporations. Recommendation systems require unique identifiers for products. UPCs, EANs and EPCs are the standard ID schemas. However, small producers especially in developing countries do not have access to these codes because they cost money and they are hard to get. Thinglink is a free, alternative product ID code that can be attached on products in the form of a human-readable label, a barcode, or a RFID tag. Anyone can thinglink a product, and anyone can create a recommendation system for thinglinked products. Google engEDU

REVIEW: DEVERY ICO PROJECT - Product Verification Protocol

10:05
Devery The Devery platform allows suppliers and consumers to prove the authenticity of their products online before purchase, essentially removing the need for ‘trust’ in e-commerce. It aims to protect brands and consumers from counterfeiting using blockchain powered product verification by providing unique, verifiable identifiers to each product throughout the supply chain. Use cases include online product verification, digital signing and physical signing. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- What problem is Devery trying to solve? It is trying to merely focus on the e-commerce and the especially the risk of non excisting trust. The purchaser is required to trust that goods online. That is why counterfeit goods account for a significant (and growing) portionof the e-commerce market. Trust is a huge factor in the e-commerce sector, which Devery is trying to improve and even negate the trust issue. Product theft, especially of high value items is very common. However, what surprises many is that they have to guard against theft from outside and inside. Specifically, theft by staff is a major problem that all retailers contend with. As this Time article reports, retail theft in the US amounts to $50 billion a year and also further predicted frauds in ecommerce. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Potential The e-commerce industry accounts in 2017 for a ~2 trillion dollar market. And the global e-commerce market is predicted to reach an estimate of 4 trillion dollar in the next 3-4 years. These numbers alone are showing a very nice long term potential in this market sector. https://devery.io/ * Notes: In my point of view, there is risk investing in this ICO. I am going to pass this ICO. This is my personal opinion, I am not giving biased recommendations. I am not a financial adviser. Discuss with your advisers before investing in ICOs.

CFTC Public Roundtable On Swap Data Recordkeeping and Reporting Requirements

03:01:16
Washington, DC -- Staff of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) held a public roundtable on June 8, 2011, from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm to discuss technical aspects of implementing infrastructures for issuance and maintenance of Unique Product Identifiers (UPIs), as they apply to CFTC's proposed swap data recordkeeping and reporting rules, as well as other CFTC proposed rules, with a focus on the products and entities under the Commission's jurisdiction. The roundtable will assist the CFTC in the implementation of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act. The Unique Product Identifier (UPI) proposed by the Commission in the swap data recordkeeping and reporting rulemaking (Part 45) would categorize swaps according to the underlying products referenced in them. While the UPI would be assigned to a particular level of the taxonomy of the asset class or sub-asset class in question, its existence would enable the Commission and other regulators to aggregate transactions at various taxonomy levels based on the type of product underlying the swap.

Nikhil Ketkar - Are these the same pair of shoes? Matching retail products at scale

43:36
Product matching is the problem of resolving product entities across e-commerce sites. This involves a complex sequence of tasks which include - 1) automatic extraction of key information regions from raw HTML (for example, product titles, UPCs etc.) 2) categorising products into a unified taxonomy 3) semantic parsing of product titles and specifications 4) standardization of attributes such as brands, colours etc., 5) grouping products into clusters of matched products based on a similarity function or inferencing model. This is a challenging problem because unique and universally agreed upon identifiers are not always available and product details are noisy and often sparse. So we have to develop contextual understanding of product specifications, which are often expressed differently by retailers, merchants, aggregators etc. To scale the matching problem to half a billion products, we also need to prune and bucket effectively while achieving good recall. Matches need to be highly precise since customers may use them for sensitive tasks such as price comparison, competitive analysis and catalog enrichment. We employ an ensemble of online and offline algorithms and models to perform matching at scale for a large number of stores, categories and brands.

If you have a question you'd like us to answer at a future session, please submit it here: http://goo.gl/VgYfFS Q: Can "Free Shipping" be used as a part of the product description? A: The title and description of the items you submit are intended to contain product information about the item and should not include promotional text, like free shipping. For PLAs on Google.com, this information can be included in the Promotional text field in the AdWords campaign settings. Q: What if I want to offer free shipping via a promo code? A: We suggest you look into using the Promotional Text field in AdWords. We also have a program called Retail Promotions (available in the US only) which helps scale promo codes. Find out more here: http://www.google.com/ads/shopping/retail-solutions.html Q: Does the attribute "effective date" have to be included in the feed if there is a sale price? A: No. If no effective date is included in the feed, then the default is for the sale price to continue indefinitely until the feed is updated. See here for effective date properties: https://support.google.com/merchants/answer/188494?hl=en#sale_price_effective_date Q: If there is a flash sale that goes on for 3 hours but the item sells out in 2 hours, what is the best way for retailer to update? A: Resubmit the feed only updating the quantity attribute of just that item. Q: Where can I find a defined set of requirements for Unique Product Identifiers? A: Visit our support page on Merchant Center here: https://support.google.com/merchants/answer/160161?hl=en Q: Can I promote Bulk Discounts for my products? A: For items sold in bulk quantities, the price for the lowest purchasable number of items must be provided (not the per unit price) and the same price has to be straightforward to find on the landing page. As we mentioned during the Hangout, there are many resources for questions regarding Pricing, Shipping and Tax. Please use the below for additional resources: For more details on Tax and Shipping: https://support.google.com/merchants/answer/160162?hl=en For more details on Price: https://support.google.com/merchants/answer/188494?hl=en#price If expecting frequent intra-day updates for products, look into Content API for Shopping: https://developers.google.com/shopping-content/?csw=1

ICO Review: Devery (EVE) - Product Verification Protocol

05:46
In this video, I review Devery's upcoming initial coin offering. In my point of view, there is risk investing in this ICO. I am going to pass this ICO. This is my personal opinion, I am not giving biased recommendations. I am not a financial adviser. Discuss with your advisers before investing in ICOs. https://devery.io/ https://t.me/deverychat https://www.reddit.com/r/deveryofficial The Devery platform allows suppliers and consumers to prove the authenticity of their products online before purchase, essentially removing the need for ‘trust’ in e-commerce. It aims to protect brands and consumers from counterfeiting using blockchain powered product verification by providing unique, verifiable identifiers to each product throughout the supply chain. Use cases include online product verification, digital signing and physical signing. Check full information on website.
